Overview

Alibi Hour is a daily whodunit you solve in ChatGPT. Every day everyone gets the same case: something has gone missing (a trophy, a cake, a robot's chip), four suspects, a map of four rooms and six ten-minute times. One suspect is the culprit and lies in every answer; the other three always tell the truth. The culprit was alone at the scene at the minute it happened. Ask a suspect where they were at a time, for example "Ask Ben where he was at 8:30", or tap a square on the timeline in the card. Each question gets one answer, word for word. You have 10 questions. Look for the story that can't be true: two answers that clash, or someone crossing the house faster than anyone can walk. Then accuse. Every case is checked by a solver before it opens: exactly one suspect can be the culprit, and par is the fewest questions that prove it. When you accuse, you see whether your own answers proved it, par, where everyone really was, and how your result compares with everyone who played that day. Your solving streak grows each day you get it right, and you can share your result without spoiling the answer. Party mode turns a case into a game for friends in one room. Say "Start an Alibi Hour mystery party": guests open the link on their phones, up to four take a suspect's private sheet with the lines to answer, and the rest play detective. Everyone votes on their own phone, and the card reveals who did it. The culprit is known only to Alibi Hour and to the guest playing them, so the host plays too. Limits: - One daily case for everyone. A new case opens at 00:00 UTC; Monday and Tuesday are easy, Friday to Sunday hard. - English only. - Cases are fiction and non-violent: things go missing or get pranked, and nobody is hurt. - No accounts: Alibi Hour keeps your questions and streak under ChatGPT's anonymous user ID. Say "Delete my Alibi Hour data" to delete them. - ChatGPT never receives a statement you didn't ask for, or the culprit, before you accuse. - Parties are deleted 24 hours after their last activity.

Tools

accuse_suspect

ChatGPT
Use this when the user names the suspect they think is the culprit in today's case. The accusation is final: it ends the user's game for the day, whatever questions are left, and reveals the culprit, every statement, where everyone really was and par. It also says whether the user's own answers proved it, and how the result compares with everyone who played today.

ask_suspect

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks one of today's suspects where they were at one of the case's six times, in any words. Takes the suspect's name and the time as shown in the case (for example 'Ben' and '8:30'). Returns that suspect's one statement for that time, word for word from the case stored on Alibi Hour's server, and uses one of the user's 10 questions; asking the same question again returns the same statement and uses nothing. An unknown suspect or time, no questions left, or an accusation already made uses nothing: the result then has a refusal whose message, suitable to show the user, says why. The result's summary quotes the statement and is suitable to show the user.

delete_my_data

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks to delete their Alibi Hour data or history. Permanently deletes their questions, accusations, streak, share links and parties. This can't be undone.

end_party

ChatGPT
Use this when the host wants to end an Alibi Hour party now. Deletes the party, its seats and votes at once; the party link stops working on every phone. Parties are also deleted 24 hours after their last activity.

get_my_stats

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks about their Alibi Hour streak, record or recent cases. Returns days played, cases solved and proven, current and best solving streak, average questions, cases at or under par, and the last 7 cases. Read-only.

get_party

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks how their Alibi Hour party is going: which suspect sheets are taken, how many guests have voted, and the result once revealed. Read-only.

reveal_party

ChatGPT
Use this when the host says the party is ready to reveal who did it. Closes voting for good and reveals the culprit, the vote count for each suspect and whether the group caught them, on every phone and in the card.

show_case_results

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks how they did on an earlier day's case, or who the culprit of an earlier case was. Shows that case with the user's questions and verdict, the culprit, every statement and where everyone really was. Covers the last 30 days; today's case stays secret until the user accuses someone. Read-only.

show_daily_case

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to play Alibi Hour or see today's whodunit. Shows the case file: what went missing, where and when, the four suspects, a map of the four rooms, the six times, the questions the user has asked with their answers, and questions left. While the case is open the result holds only the statements the user asked for and no culprit; its summary is suitable to show the user. Read-only.

start_party

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to play Alibi Hour with friends in the same room (a mystery party). Creates a fresh case and a party link with a 4-letter code. Up to four guests each take a suspect's private sheet on their own phone, with the lines to answer when asked where they were; more guests join as detectives. Everyone votes on their phone; the culprit is known only to the server and the guest playing them, so the host can play too. Starting again within two minutes returns the same party.
