Overview

Alta is a personal AI stylist that keeps a digital version of your closet. Connect it to let ChatGPT read the clothes you've added to Alta and how often you wear them, so it can answer questions about your own wardrobe instead of guessing. Ask what you own ("find my black tops", "what winter coats do I have?"), what you wear most or least, which pieces you haven't worn this month, or your cost per wear. ChatGPT can use your real closet to pack for a trip, plan outfits, or check whether you already own something before you buy it. Access is read-only: Alta's tools never change your closet, account or settings. You sign in with your Alta account and approve access on altadaily.com, and you can disconnect anytime. Requires an Alta account with items in your closet.

Get closet items by id, with full detail including rgb_colors. Use it after search_closet or wear_stats when you need an item's details. Returns items[] (same fields as search_closet plus rgb_colors) and not_found[] for ids that aren't in the user's published closet.

search_closet

Search the signed-in user's Alta closet (published items, newest first). Call this first for any question about what they own, and to get the item_ids other tools take. Returns items[] with { item_id, name, brand, category, colors, seasons, dress_codes, price, image_url, added_at }, total (matches before paging) and next_cursor (null on the last page). Read-only. The user adds and edits items in the Alta app.

wear_stats

ChatGPT

How often the user wore each published closet item, from the outfits they logged as worn. Items never worn count 0. Returns items[] with { item_id, name, category, times_worn } and total_items. Most worn first by default; set order to "least" for the least worn.
