add_packing_items
ChatGPTAdds up to 100 user-accepted packing items as separate cards. Items are private to the user by default; shared=true adds the whole batch to the party’s shared list. All new items are unpacked. The operation creates additions rather than reconciling duplicates with existing cards. Returns card IDs, individual change eventIds, revision and the number added.
add_trip_ideas
ChatGPTSaves up to 24 user-accepted public ideas as one reversible batch, with optional verified place photos and map points. A day without planned=true is a suggestion; planned=true represents the user’s decision to add it to the plan. Neither state creates a reservation. Secret mystery-trip proposals are not supported. Returns saved IDs, individual change eventIds, revision and a link to the ideas or day.
create_invite
ChatGPTCreates a new invitation link for the user to share with their travel party. A person who signs in and accepts can join as a traveller, see shared cards, add and change them, and invite others. Joining is subject to the trip’s current access and membership limits. Each call creates a distinct link that expires after 30 days. This operation shares access and is not idempotent.
create_trip
ChatGPTCreates a shared travel workspace from a name. Destination, dates and preferences may be left unset. Requires explicit permission to create trips. The template can add starter ideas; these are not bookings. Returns the trip ID and revision.
delete_record
ChatGPTRemoves a visible card from the active trip into recoverable Trash. It does not cancel an external booking or refund a payment. Later edits and access restrictions can prevent removal.
fetch
ChatGPTReturns a permitted search result in full: a trip identified by trip:<tripId> or one card identified by record:<tripId>:<recordId>. Includes text, URL and metadata with the current trip revision.
get_trip
ChatGPTReturns a permitted trip, travel preferences, visible records, participants and current revision. Ideas include read-only interest.memberIds for people who marked that they want to go; these wishes are set by the people themselves on the website. Mystery-trip secrets and other people’s private records are excluded according to the caller’s access.
get_trip_decisions
ChatGPTReturns the permitted trip’s separate destination and date polls, alternatives, participant responses, counts and current poll revisions. Unanswered is distinct from No. Hidden mystery destinations are visible only to authorized planners. Full trip membership and this AI connection’s trip grant are required; poll-only participation provides no AI access.
hand_over_trip
ChatGPTTransfers trip ownership to an existing member. Only the current owner can perform the transfer; a mystery trip requires the recipient to be a planner. The new owner controls invitations and member removal. The former owner remains a traveller and cannot unilaterally reverse the transfer.
leave_trip
ChatGPTRemoves the authenticated user from the trip and withdraws this AI connection’s access to it. Shared cards remain for other travellers; a later invitation can restore membership. The owner cannot leave while still owning the trip.
list_changes
ChatGPTReturns the trip change feed visible to this user, including agent edits. Actions member.join, member.leave, member.remove and member.owner concern people; title is that person’s first name. Reading does not mark notifications read. nextCursor is the beforeRevision value for the next page.
list_my_changes
ChatGPTLists the authenticated user’s recent changes to a permitted trip.
list_trash
ChatGPTLists recoverable shared cards and the user’s own private cards. nextCursor is the beforeRevision value for the next page.
list_trips
ChatGPTLists trips permitted for this AI connection: all trips the user belongs to, or only their selected trips when access has been narrowed in Awayfolk.
propose_trip_option
ChatGPTAdds one user-requested destination or date alternative to an open poll. Optional manual prices retain their source and a server timestamp; unknown prices remain unknown. The expected revision belongs to the selected poll. Returns the new option ID and poll revision. This addition casts no vote, confirms no choice, changes no membership and creates no booking. Existing alternatives and their responses remain unchanged.
render_trip
ChatGPTReturns an interactive view and text result for the permitted trip’s ideas and day plan. Optional public suggestions are previews, not saved records; the view can save them as public ideas after user selection. An exact placeSource Wikipedia article supports verified coordinates and licensed photographs through external lookups; unavailable sources leave usable text cards. Saved secret cards appear only to authorized mystery-trip planners. Preview suggestions do not support secret content.
restore_record
ChatGPTRestores a removed card without overwriting subsequent edits. Requires the applicable trip revision, dates that still fit the trip, and any linked packing or activity records to be present. Returns the restored card ID, revision and change event ID.
save_link
ChatGPTFetches a user-shared HTTPS page and saves a public trip idea with its title, description, place and date. The page may provide an event, restaurant, place, Google Maps place or article. A discovered picture is added when a traveller next opens Ideas. Instagram content may be unavailable. The idea is suggested for a day when the page date fits the trip or the user supplies day. This tool cannot save secrets and never makes a booking. Returns the saved card receipt and preview details.
save_record
ChatGPTAdds or updates an idea, planned activity, booking, personal or shared packing item, shared checklist task, outfit, memory, shared expense or repayment. Only the creator edits or deletes idea/activity content; any permitted member may change their day, time, endTime or status to plan, move or unplan them. Record capabilities canEditContent and canPlan describe these permissions, including for the trip owner. recordId selects an update; omitted day and data fields retain their values, while an empty string or null clears supported fields. Financial edits require the complete expense or settlement object. Dates of plans and bookings must fit the trip. A card with a day and status idea remains a suggestion; planned represents a chosen day, not a booking or unanimous group approval. Confirmed bookings, paid costs and memories represent user-confirmed facts. Shared expenses and repayments require user confirmation of an actual purchase or payment; their date is inside the financial object and day is empty. This tool records information, never books, pays or cancels with a supplier. Optional place resolution uses external geocoding. Returns the card ID, revision and change event ID.
search
ChatGPTFinds permitted trips and cards by words in titles, places, notes or dates (YYYY-MM-DD). An empty query lists the permitted trips. Returns result IDs, titles and URLs.
set_packed
ChatGPTUpdates packed or bought quantities on the user’s own packing list or the shared list. The supplied quantities represent what the user has confirmed packing or buying. Other travellers’ private lists are inaccessible. Does not change the trip revision.
undo_change
ChatGPTReverses a change made by this user only when no later edit, including their own, has changed the card and its dates still fit the trip. eventId identifies one change; eventIds identifies a batch of card additions. Batch cards changed since the addition remain in place and are reported in kept.
update_trip
ChatGPTUpdates a permitted trip’s travel profile, dates, theme and mystery settings. Omitted optional fields retain their values. expectedRevision identifies the version on which the update is based; conflicting changes are refused. Mystery settings remain subject to owner and planner permissions.
