Overview

Bansaj is a genealogy platform for recording Nepali family lineages (वंशावली). With this connector Claude can find people in Bansaj by name, place or occupation, walk their family tree down to spouses and descendants, trace their parents and grandparents, and work out how two people are related. Names can be searched in Nepali or English script. The connector is read-only, returns only information already public on Bansaj, and needs no sign-in.

Claude

Find how two people are related: the shortest chain of parent, child and spouse links from the first person to the second. Each step names how that person relates to the previous one, so father, father, son reads as the first person's father's father's son (an uncle or the father himself).

getAncestors

Claude

Get a person's parents, grandparents and earlier ancestors, with each person's father and mother nested. Use this for questions about parents, grandparents or where a family line comes from; getFamilyTree only goes down to spouses and descendants.

getFamilyTree

Claude

Get the family tree connected to a person. Spouses and children are nested, and generation is relative to the requested person.

searchPeople

Claude

Search for people in the Bansaj family-tree database by name or other details such as address or occupation. The first word of the query must match; later words narrow the results when they match too. Returns each person's id and slug for use with getFamilyTree.
