Overview

Search and compare more than 29,000 GAO bid protest decisions, from 1925 to 2026, without leaving the conversation. Describe an issue or fact pattern in plain language and get the closest decisions, each with its B-number, date, agency, outcome and a short summary. Open any decision by B-number for its issues, reasoning, why GAO ruled the way it did, key points and a link to the decision on gao.gov. Find the decisions most like a given one, filtered by outcome, agency, year, contracting vehicle (IDIQ, task order, set-aside and others) or record type. Or read a stored comparison of a decision with its five closest matches: what they share, how they differ, and grounds to distinguish them. Built for contracting officers and specialists, small business advocates, protest counsel, and anyone preparing or answering a bid protest. Good to know: - Summaries, issues, key points and comparisons are model-generated from the decisions. The outcome is read from the decision text. Cite B-numbers and check key facts in the decision itself before relying on them. - Decisions before 1990 come from scanned text and can have errors in names and dates. - The tools only read. There is no account, and nothing you ask changes anything. - This is a research aid, not legal advice. AcqAgent is an independent, open-source project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) or any other federal agency.

Tools

corpus_info

ChatGPT
Corpus coverage and valid filter values: decision counts by outcome and record type, year range, contracting vehicles, most common agencies, how each filter matches, and known data caveats.

find_similar_decisions

ChatGPT
Decisions most similar to a given B-number. Without filters, the first five are re-ranked by an LLM for the same core legal issue (better than raw similarity) and the rest follow by document similarity. With filters, every decision that passes them is ranked by document similarity. Use opposite_outcome to find contrary results and exclude_same_docket to skip the same protest's other decisions.

get_decision

ChatGPT
The analysis of one GAO bid protest decision by B-number: date, agency, outcome_assessed (authoritative disposition from the decision text), summary, issues, reasoning, outcome rationale, key points, the GAO source URL when known, and its five most similar decisions. Consolidated decisions resolve from any of their B-numbers.

get_similarity_synopsis

ChatGPT
A stored comparison of a decision with its five closest matches: shared issues, differences, grounds to distinguish, practical use, matched passage pairs from the full texts, and FAR, U.S.C. and GAO citations that appear in both decisions. Not every decision has one; if missing, use find_similar_decisions.

search_decisions

ChatGPT
Semantic search over GAO bid protest decisions. Describe a legal issue or fact pattern in plain language (for example 'bid bond missing at bid opening' or 'agency failed to evaluate price realism'). Returns the closest decisions with similarity score, date, agency, outcome_assessed, a one-sentence core issue, summary and issues. Optional filters narrow the corpus before ranking.
