Overview

Cashly is a personal finance tracker. Connect your Cashly account to log income and expenses, see where your money went, and keep track of EMIs, money lent or borrowed, subscriptions, credit cards and upcoming bills, just by asking. What you can do: - Ask how much you spent this month and where it went. - Add an expense or income with its category and how you paid. - See your next EMI, how much is left on a loan, and which bills are due. - Check what you owe and what others owe you. - Review your subscriptions and when they renew. Cashly reads and changes only the data in your own Cashly account, and it asks you before it changes or deletes anything. When you connect, you choose full access or view only, and you can disconnect at any time from Cashly Settings, Developer, Connected apps. Limitations: Cashly is a tracker. It does not connect to your bank, move money or make payments, and it does not give financial, tax or investment advice. A Cashly account is needed to connect.

Tools

add_to_debt

ChatGPT
The user lent or borrowed more with the same person: adds to the existing debt.

create_bank

ChatGPT
Add a bank account. The first one becomes the favourite (default for bank and UPI payments).

create_credit_card

ChatGPT
Add a credit card. Statement and due days drive the bill reminders and upcoming bills.

create_debit_card

ChatGPT
Add a debit card. Link it to a bank (bank_id) so card spends reduce that bank balance.

create_debt

ChatGPT
Record money lent or borrowed. entry_type debtor = the user lent money and will receive it back; creditor = the user borrowed and has to pay it back.

create_emi

ChatGPT
Add a loan or purchase paid in monthly instalments. The instalment, total payable and schedule are worked out from principal, rate and tenure.

create_subscription

ChatGPT
Add a recurring payment. It appears in upcoming bills before each billing date.

create_transaction

ChatGPT
Record an income (credit) or an expense (debit). Updates the linked account: a card expense raises its outstanding, a bank or wallet entry changes its balance. Counts as one monthly transaction credit.

create_wallet

ChatGPT
Add a wallet.

delete_bank

ChatGPT
Delete a bank account. Past transactions stay. Confirm first.

delete_credit_card

ChatGPT
Delete a credit card. Past transactions stay. Confirm first.

delete_debit_card

ChatGPT
Delete a debit card. Confirm first.

delete_debt

ChatGPT
Delete a debt and its history. Cannot be undone; confirm first.

delete_emi

ChatGPT
Delete an EMI and its upcoming bills. Confirm first.

delete_subscription

ChatGPT
Delete a subscription. To stop it but keep history, set status cancelled instead. Confirm first.

delete_transaction

ChatGPT
Delete a transaction and reverse its effect on the linked account. Cannot be undone; confirm with the user first.

delete_wallet

ChatGPT
Delete a wallet. Confirm first.

delete_webhook

ChatGPT
Remove a webhook; Cashly stops sending to it. Confirm first.

get_billing_payments

ChatGPT
Payments the user made for their Cashly plan (invoices).

get_billing_status

ChatGPT
The user's Cashly plan and billing: plan name, status, trial and period end, whether it renews, the next automatic charge (date and amount in INR, or null when nothing will be charged), and transactions used and left this period. Plan changes and payment methods are managed by the user on the web, not through tools.

ChatGPT
Valid income and expense category names. Use these exact names for category fields.

get_debt

ChatGPT
One debt with its full payment history.

get_emi

ChatGPT
One EMI with its schedule.

get_emi_payments

Instalments already paid for one EMI.

get_payment_methods

ChatGPT
Valid payment method values (cash, bank, upi, credit_card, debit_card, wallet, cheque, other).

get_profile

Return the Cashly account this connection is signed in to: a stable opaque id, the display name and the email. Takes no input.

get_rate_limit_status

ChatGPT
Requests used and remaining in the current one-minute rate-limit window.

get_stats

ChatGPT
Income, expense, savings, account balances, top categories, EMI and subscription monthly totals, and a day/week/month income-vs-expense series for a period. The best first call for "how am I doing" questions.

get_subscription

ChatGPT
One subscription.

get_subscription_payments

ChatGPT
Payment history of one subscription.

get_transaction

ChatGPT
One transaction by id.

get_upcoming_bills

ChatGPT
Bills due soon from EMIs, subscriptions, debts and credit cards, with due dates and amounts. Use the bill id with record_bill_payment or skip_upcoming_bill.

get_usage

ChatGPT
Plan, subscription status, monthly transaction credits (used and remaining) and the rate-limit window.

get_user

ChatGPT
The user's profile: name, email, country, currency, timezone and notification settings. Use the currency when you show amounts. Name, email, country and currency are read-only here; the user changes them in the Cashly app.

get_webhook

ChatGPT
One webhook by id (from list_webhooks).

health_check

ChatGPT
Check that the API key works and see the plan and whether the subscription is active. Call this first if other tools fail.

list_accounts

ChatGPT
Every bank account, credit card, debit card and wallet in one call, with balances, outstanding and ids. Use it to find method_ref_id values.

list_banks

ChatGPT
Bank accounts with balances.

list_connected_apps

ChatGPT
Apps the user connected to Cashly with OAuth (such as ChatGPT): name, read only or read and write access, when connected and last used. Read-only: the user disconnects apps in the Cashly app.

list_credit_cards

ChatGPT
Credit cards with limit, outstanding, statement day and due day.

list_debit_cards

Debit cards and the bank account each is linked to.

list_debts

list_emis

ChatGPT
Loans paid in instalments: monthly EMI, paid and remaining instalments, next due date and amount left.

list_signed_in_devices

list_subscriptions

ChatGPT
Recurring payments (Netflix, gym, rent, insurance and so on) with amount, cycle, next billing date and status.

list_transactions

ChatGPT
Transactions, newest first, with totals (income, expense, net) for the same filter. Filter by period (range, or from/to), type and search text.

list_wallets

ChatGPT
Wallets (Paytm, Amazon Pay, cash in hand and so on) with balances.

list_webhook_deliveries

ChatGPT
Recent deliveries to one webhook (last 30 days): event, status pending/delivered/failed, attempts, HTTP status and error.

list_webhook_events

ChatGPT
Every event a webhook can subscribe to, such as transaction.created or debt.updated. "*" subscribes to all of them.

list_webhooks

ChatGPT
The HTTPS endpoints Cashly notifies when the user's data changes: URL, events, whether active, and the last delivery status. Secrets are never listed.

record_bill_payment

ChatGPT
Record that the user has paid an upcoming bill (from get_upcoming_bills): marks it paid, updates the linked EMI, subscription, debt or credit card, and creates the expense transaction. It does not send or move money; it only updates the tracker.

record_debt_payment

ChatGPT
Record a partial repayment the user already made or received outside Cashly (received for a debtor, paid for a creditor). Lowers the amount still owed and creates the matching transaction. It does not send or move money.

record_emi_payment

ChatGPT
Record that the user has paid the next instalment of an EMI (loan) to the lender: creates the expense transaction and moves the EMI to the following month. It does not send or move money; it only updates the tracker.

record_subscription_payment

ChatGPT
Record that the user has paid a subscription for this cycle: creates the expense transaction and moves the next billing date one cycle ahead. It does not send or move money; it only updates the tracker.

rotate_webhook_secret

ChatGPT

settle_debt

ChatGPT
Mark a debt fully repaid: records the remaining amount as a payment and creates the transaction.

skip_upcoming_bill

ChatGPT
Skip this occurrence of a bill without paying it (no transaction is created).

unsettle_debt

ChatGPT
Reopen a settled debt: reverses the settling payment and its transaction.

update_bank

ChatGPT
Change a bank account. Setting balance overwrites it (use it to correct the balance).

update_credit_card

ChatGPT
Change a credit card. Setting outstanding overwrites it (use it to correct the amount owed).

update_debit_card

ChatGPT
Change a debit card.

update_debt

ChatGPT
Change a debt's name, note, due date or direction. Changing entry_type also flips its recorded transactions. To change the amount use add_to_debt or record_debt_payment.

update_emi

ChatGPT
Change an EMI; the instalment, total payable and schedule are recalculated. Set paid_months to mark instalments paid outside Cashly.

update_notifications

ChatGPT
Turn individual notification emails on or off. Only the fields you pass change.

update_subscription

ChatGPT
Change a subscription, including pausing (status paused) or cancelling (status cancelled) it.

update_transaction

ChatGPT
Change a transaction. Only the fields you pass change; account balances are adjusted for the difference. Changing payment_method without method_ref_id moves it to the favourite account for that method.

update_user

ChatGPT
Change the user's timezone, which decides what "today" means for new entries. It is the only profile setting that can be changed through tools; name, currency and every other account setting are changed in the Cashly app.

update_wallet

ChatGPT
Change a wallet. Setting balance overwrites it.
