MCP App Store

Overview

Clonerrr is a marketing research tool for the people who grow mobile apps: founders, marketers and user acquisition teams. It does two jobs. It shows you real app ads and how they are built, and it audits an app's store listing against its competitors. Ad research: search a library of real video ads that apps ran on Facebook and Instagram, taken from Meta's Ad Library. Open any ad to see why it works and how it is built, scene by scene: what each scene is for, the words on screen, the voiceover, how it is shot, and which parts belong to the original app and which carry over to any product. Where an ad's run was recorded, you also see how many days it ran. Give your app's App Store or Google Play link, or describe an app that is not live yet, to get the ads closest to it and write a new script on a structure that has already been used. Store listing audits: audit an App Store or Google Play listing against the apps it competes with. Title and description, the searches it ranks for, screenshots, recent reviews and paid ads are each graded, with the changes that matter most in order. The full report is kept at a link you can open and share. Good to know: the library covers ads for mobile apps and is a sample, so an app with no ads in it may still advertise. Days running is the only performance figure it holds; it has no spend, install or click data. The plugin reads public store listings and needs no account. It does not run, buy or publish ads.

Tools

find_ad_templates_for_app

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants ad ideas, an ad script or a creative direction for their own mobile app or product: returns the app as its store listing describes it and the ads in Clonerrr Research closest to it (its own category first), each with its grade, verdict, structure and opening line. Give the app's App Store or Google Play link, which is read from the store; for an app that is not live, leave the link out and pass what the user said about it. Then pick the ads that fit and call get_ad_template for their breakdowns before writing. It does not write the ad and it does not look up a store listing by name alone.

get_ad_template

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to understand one ad from Clonerrr Research, learn from it, or write a new ad on its structure. Returns the whole breakdown: the verdict, how the ad works, every scene in order (what is on screen, the words on screen and spoken, the psychology, the edit, the techniques, which parts belong to the original app and which carry over to any product, and image links to its filmstrip frames), the grade on six dimensions with the reason for each score, what it does well, what it could do better, what to take from it, and the numbered sources every claim cites. Takes the ad's id from search_ad_templates or find_ad_templates_for_app. It does not return the video: Clonerrr Research shows ads only as frames.

get_research_sources

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks what research says about an ad technique or a principle of persuasion or attention (hooks, faces, cutting pace, captions, social proof, scarcity, branding…), or wants the evidence behind a claim in a breakdown. Returns the studies, books and industry reports Clonerrr Research cites, each with its full reference, a link, and its finding as the source states it, filtered by topic or keywords.

run_app_audit

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants their app's App Store or Google Play listing audited or improved (app store optimisation): its title and description, keywords and where it ranks for them, screenshots, recent reviews and paid ads, each judged against the apps it competes with. Takes the app's store link. Clonerrr reads the public listing, finds the competitors, grades each section and keeps the report at a link anyone can open; nothing is sent to the user and no account is needed. A new audit takes a minute or two and is worked through a few steps per call: while status is "running", call this tool again with the same store_url until status is "done", then answer from the findings and link the report. An audit finished in the last three days is returned at once. Do not use it for an app that is not on either store, or for websites.

search_ad_templates

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants examples of real video ads that mobile apps ran on Facebook and Instagram, or wants to study how ads work: ads from a named app, ads in an app category, ads that use a technique (social proof, pattern interrupt, direct address…), the highest graded or simply the longest-running. Searches Clonerrr Research, where every ad is taken apart scene by scene and graded out of 10 by a creative director's rubric, each claim citing published research. Returns a few ads with how many days each ran, its grade, the breakdown's verdict, its techniques and its page. Send short keywords, not a sentence. Do not use it for ads that are not for apps, or for an advertiser's spend or results: days running is the only performance figure there is.
