Overview

Cykl is a life-design app that runs the same loop (plan, execute, review) at every level from today to your lifetime: day, week, month, quarter, year, chapter, season and lifetime, with projects, actions, habits and metrics scored across the domains of your life. This connector lets Claude work on that record instead of starting from a blank chat: • Read where you stand: the open cycle at every level, what each one committed to, today's actions and habit progress, your active projects and your mastery score. • Look back: past cycles with their reviews and lessons, and search across everything you've written. • Act for you: open or update projects, tick a project's criteria, add actions and mark them done, add focus points or review bullets to a cycle, record readings from a watch or scale, and save vision exercises on a chapter, season or lifetime. Every change is queued and applied by your Cykl app through the same rules as a tap, listed in Settings → Integrations, and each one can be undone there. Claude reaches nothing outside your own Cykl account. You sign in to Cykl and approve the connection, and you can disconnect it at any time. Requires a Cykl account (web at app.cykl.io, iPhone, Android and Mac).

Tools

add_brain_dump

ChatGPT
Add lines to a cycle’s brain dump — what is on the person’s mind, captured to be sorted later. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

append_cycle_bullets

ChatGPT
Add lines to one of a cycle’s lists: focus (what it commits to), or the review — pros, cons, lessons, fundamentalsNotes, summary. Bullets already there are ignored, and only the new ones can be taken back. This adds; it never rewrites what the person wrote. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

complete_action

ChatGPT
Mark an action done, along with any sub-steps under it. An action that is already done is refused rather than completed twice, so the person’s own record of when they finished it survives. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

complete_routine

ChatGPT
Mark a routine instance of a week, month, quarter or year complete (or, with done: false, open again), earning its points. Completing a level’s Review routine closes that cycle, as finishing the closing in the app does. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

create_action

ChatGPT
Add an action — effort completable within one day. Leave the date out for the undated Next Actions inbox, or give one to put it on that day’s plate. Set done to log something that has already happened. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

create_project

ChatGPT
Open a new project: an effort with a definition of done, at one of four timeframes (strategic, long, mid, short), optionally nested under a longer-horizon parent. A parent the hierarchy refuses — a shorter timeframe, a finished project, or a loop — is dropped rather than failing the whole thing. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

edit_domains

ChatGPT
Add, rename, set the status of, remove or reorder life domains. add: name, parentId (energy, work, love or one beneath them). change: id, name and/or status (active or future). remove: id — a domain is deleted only when nothing has ever named it or anything beneath it; anything that does (a habit, an action, a project, a target, a past day) keeps it, and it is retired instead, out of the lists and pickers. The reply says which happened. The fundamental domains stay. reorder: id, to (among its siblings). Each op is applied in order as one change with one undo; if any is refused, none is made. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

edit_habits

ChatGPT
Add, change, remove or reorder daily habits. add: name, domainId, points, dayTypes (labels; empty = every day), enabled. change: id plus any of those. remove: id — past days keep the habit as they froze it. reorder: id, to (within its domain). The four locked habits (Morning check-in, Focus setting, Evening check-in, Day review) take only points. Today and the days ahead follow the change; days that passed never move. Each op is applied in order as one change with one undo; if any is refused, none is made. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

edit_metrics

ChatGPT
Add your own metric, switch one on or off, move it between the morning and the evening check-in, or remove one of your own. add: label, kind (number, time, scale or text), capturedAt (morning or evening), unit. change: key, enabled and/or capturedAt. remove: key — your own only (a built-in one is switched off instead); days that recorded it keep their values. Each op is applied in order as one change with one undo; if any is refused, none is made. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

edit_routines

ChatGPT
Add, change, remove or reorder the routines of weeks, months, quarters and years (a day’s routines are its architecture, set up in the app). add: level, name, points, steps (labels), description. change: id plus any of name, points, steps (the whole list; a label matching an existing step keeps it), description, enabled. Planning and Review are locked: only points. The change reaches the cycles launched from now on; an open cycle keeps what it launched with. Each op is applied in order as one change with one undo; if any is refused, none is made. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

edit_targets

ChatGPT
Add, change or remove targets. add: subject (domain — a domain’s score; metric; routines — a level’s routines), key (the domain id, metric key or level), levels, dayTypes, min and/or max, name. change: id plus min, max (null clears), levels, dayTypes — it takes effect from today, and the days before keep the range they were scored against. remove: id — a target in force is ended, the days before keep it. Each op is applied in order as one change with one undo; if any is refused, none is made. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

finish_review

ChatGPT
The closing, done in conversation: what is sent is written — pros, cons, lessons and summary added to what is there, a rating 1–5 (not a day), a day’s evening check-in { metricKey: value } — and the cycle is closed by its review, as the app’s closing does. A day: Evening check-in (when the check-in has a value) and Day review are ticked. A week to a year: every step of its Review routine is ticked and the routine completed. Its cover is still chosen in the app. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

get_change_status

ChatGPT
What has been asked of Cykl and what became of it. A change is pending until the app is next opened on the device, then applied or refused — a refused one says why.

get_current_state

ChatGPT
Where this person is right now: the open cycle at every level (day, week, month, quarter, year, chapter, season, lifetime) with what each committed to and, for weeks to years, how many of its routines are complete; today’s remaining actions and habit progress; the active projects; and the mastery score.

get_cycle

ChatGPT
One cycle in full: its focus, metrics, progress (a day’s habits, or a week-to-year’s routines), its review (what went well, what did not, what was learned) and the cycles above and below it.

get_day

ChatGPT
One day in full: where it stands (not launched, running, closed), its kind and focus, every habit by name and id with whether it is done, its metrics by label, what is still open and what was done, its review and its mastery score.

get_project

ChatGPT
One project in full: its definition of done, where it sits in the hierarchy, its sub-projects, the cycles it is attached to, its open actions, and — if it is finished — what it achieved and what it left behind.

get_reflections

ChatGPT
What this person has reviewed and learned. Cykl has no separate review record — a cycle carries its own reflection — so this is the review of each cycle that has one, most recent first. The best source for patterns, recurring problems and stated lessons.

get_scores

ChatGPT
The mastery score of every cycle at one level over a span, oldest first, with its rating — "how did my weeks go this quarter" in one call. 26 cycles at most unless a limit is given.

launch_cycle

ChatGPT
Start a week, month, quarter or year, with what it is about: its focus bullets, the projects it works on and (a quarter or a year) its theme, in one go. Without on it starts the period the app’s own launch button would (near a period’s end, that is the next one); with on, the period that day falls in. A period already launched is refused with its id; one already over is refused too. The person can still run the launch ritual over it in the app, and can take the whole launch back. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

launch_day

ChatGPT
Launch today — or set up tomorrow the evening before — as the app’s Day launch does: the kind of day, its focus (which replaces the day’s focus) and, today only, the morning check-in’s metrics (the metrics captured in the morning). It creates the day if needed and ticks what the launch ticks: Morning check-in when the check-in has a value, Focus setting when the focus has a line (tomorrow: Focus setting only, on tomorrow’s day). On a day already launched it updates what is sent. A day that is over or closed is refused. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

launch_higher_cycle

ChatGPT
Begin a chapter, season or lifetime from its start date (a lifetime’s is the birth date). Leave the end out for an ongoing season or chapter: its span is estimated until it is set. There is one lifetime; a second is refused. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

list_actions

ChatGPT
Actions — effort completable within one day. Use todoOn to get the plate for a given day, which includes anything still open from before it. Undated actions are the Next Actions inbox.

list_cycles

ChatGPT
Cycle history, most recent first. A cycle is a span of time running the same loop — reconnect, plan, execute, capture, review, reset — at eight levels from a single day up to a lifetime.

list_domains

ChatGPT
The life domains everything is scored and organised by, as a tree under Energy, Work and Love, each each with its id. Retired domains are left out unless asked for.

list_habits

ChatGPT
The daily habits catalogue by domain: each with its id, points, the kinds of day it applies to, and whether it is on. The four locked ones (Morning check-in, Focus setting, Evening check-in, Day review) are ticked by launching and closing the day, not one by one.

list_metrics

ChatGPT
What is measured each day — energy, mood, sleep, weight and the person’s own — with its key, its kind (number, time as HH:MM, a select’s values, text), its unit, and whether it is asked in the morning or the evening.

list_projects

ChatGPT
Projects, newest-horizon first. A project is an effort with a definition of done, living at one of four timeframes (strategic, long, mid, short) or none yet, and nesting under a longer-horizon parent. Filter by status, timeframe (none for projects without one), domain or priority.

list_routines

ChatGPT
Routines: by level (day, week, month, quarter, year) with their steps — or, given a cycleId, that week’s, month’s, quarter’s or year’s routine instances with each step’s id and tick. Planning and Review are locked at every level; completing Review closes its cycle.

list_targets

ChatGPT
The targets in force: a domain’s score, a metric or a level’s routines, each with its range, the levels and kinds of day it applies to, and its id.

mark_project_reviewed

ChatGPT
Stamp a project as reviewed today, as its review in the app does. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

plan_routine

ChatGPT
Put a routine instance of a week, month, quarter or year on a day (and a start time), as Routines planning does in the app: the action that carries it out is moved there, or made. A null date takes it off the calendar. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

record_metrics

ChatGPT
Write metrics the person tells you — energy, mood, focus, a rating, their own — on a day (by date, today by default) or on any cycle by id. By key; a time as "HH:MM", a select by its value, null clears one. A value is written as typed: it wins over a device’s reading. Numbers from a watch or a scale are readings, recorded apart. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

record_readings

ChatGPT
Record numbers a watch, ring or scale measured — resting heart rate, weight, sleep times, steps — for the days they belong to. Each fills that day’s metric only where the person has not typed a value of their own (a typed value always wins), and waits for a day not yet opened. A night’s sleep belongs to the morning it ends. Sending the same day again replaces this source’s earlier reading. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

remove_action

ChatGPT
Remove an action and its sub-steps. The person can put it back, exactly as it was, from their change log. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

remove_cycle_bullets

ChatGPT
Remove lines from one of a cycle’s lists — focus, pros, cons, lessons, fundamentalsNotes, summary — naming each by its point id (the [id] after the line when a cycle, a day or its reflections are read), or by its text as the cycle shows it (case and surrounding spaces ignored). A line that is not there refuses the whole change and says what the list reads. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

remove_project

ChatGPT
Remove a project. Its sub-projects move up to its parent and its actions keep going without it; the person can put all of it back from their change log. Ending a project is a change of its status, not a removal. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

reopen_action

ChatGPT
Mark a done action as not done, with its sub-steps. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

save_vision_exercise

ChatGPT
Save the result of one self-discovery or vision exercise on a chapter, season or lifetime, as the app’s own exercise screens would: it shows under Reconnect, Orient or Distil on that cycle’s page and feeds every exercise after it. Lifetime: bigFive { traits: { openness… 0–100 | null }, notes[] }, peakExperiences { entries: [{ moment, why?, pattern? }], patterns[] }, values { final[] }, coreStandards { areas: { energy|mind|connection|craft|freedom|growth: string[] } }, antiVisionLifetime { text }, distillLifetime { values[], manifesto }. Season: workingGenius { genius[], competency[], frustration[], notes[] } (wonder, invention, discernment, galvanizing, enablement, tenacity), skillsInventory { items: [{ item, evidence? }] }, gameBrainstorm { options: [{ name, description, tag? }] }, gameMatrix { options, criteria, scores, chosenId, why[] }, qolVision { sections: { body|mind|family|friends|environment|craft|play|material: text } }, antiVisionSeason { text }, distillSeason { outcomes[], focus[], identities[] }. Chapter: wheelOfLife { scores: { area: 1–10 }, notes[] }, vehicleBrainstorm, vehicleMatrix, tacticalVision { sections, tiers: { area: prioritise|maintain|postpone } }, antiVisionChapter { text }, distillChapter { outcomes[], skills[], focus[] }, projectsBridge { candidates: [{ name, description, kind: work|nonwork, projectId? }] }. An exercise that already holds work is left alone unless replace is true. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

search_state

ChatGPT
Find something by text across project names and definitions of done, action names and notes, and cycle focus, lessons and review bullets.

set_higher_cycle

ChatGPT
Set the distilled fields of a higher cycle: the manifesto and values (lifetime; a chapter may carry a manifesto), identities and the chosen game (season), skills and the chosen vehicle (chapter), vision outcomes (season or chapter), the anti-vision (all three). A field sent to a level that does not carry it is refused by name. Each field sent replaces what was there; fields left out are untouched, and the change can be taken back. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

skip_review

ChatGPT
Close a cycle without its review, as Skip review does in the app. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

tick_criteria

ChatGPT
Mark lines of a project’s definition of done as met (or, with met: false, as not met), naming them by their text exactly as the project lists them (case and surrounding spaces ignored). Ticking moves the project’s progress, which is the share of criteria met. A line that matches no criterion refuses the whole command and says which lines there are. Can be taken back from the person’s change log. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

tick_habits

ChatGPT
Tick (or untick) a day’s habits by id. A habit that does not apply to that day is refused with the ones that do. The four locked habits are not ticked here: launching the day ticks Morning check-in and Focus setting, and finishing its review ticks Evening check-in and Day review. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

tick_routine_steps

ChatGPT
Tick (or untick) steps of one routine instance of a week, month, quarter or year, by step id. Ticking steps does not complete the routine. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

update_action

ChatGPT
Change an action: its name, its day (null: back to the Next Actions inbox), its start and end time ("HH:MM", null clears), notes, project, domain (by id), priority 1–4, energy, the action it is a step of, or its place among its siblings. Only the fields sent change. The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

update_cycle

ChatGPT
Change a cycle’s fields; each one sent replaces what is there, the rest are untouched. focus (any level), theme (a quarter or a year; empty clears it), projectIds (a week to a year; empty follows the level above), targetIds, dayType (a day: by label or id), name and startDate/endDate (a chapter, season or lifetime), rating 1–5 (not a day; null clears it). The change is made live by the Cykl app wherever it is open (within a second or two, and the reply says it was made), and otherwise the moment the app is next opened.

update_project

ChatGPT
Change an existing project. Only the fields you send are touched, and the change can be taken back from the person’s change log. Closing a project stamps its end date; a null priority clears it back to "not decided yet". Moving it under a new parent is refused if that would break the hierarchy. Progress is not sent: it is the share of the definition of done that is met (100 once done). The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.

write_project_summary

ChatGPT
Replace a project’s summary — the few lines (twelve at most) it is remembered by, what its closing writes: outcomes, not activity. An empty list clears it. It does not close the project. Can be taken back from the person’s change log. The change is queued and applied when the Cykl app is next open on the person’s device.
