Overview

Docteur Bet brings football statistics into ChatGPT. Ask about a match, a title race or a team's form, and get probabilities computed by a published Dixon-Coles model (Dixon & Coles, 1997), recalculated after every round, for 21 competitions: the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, three second divisions, other European leagues, the Champions League and the Europa League. What you can ask: • a match's chances: home win, draw, away win, number of goals, both teams scoring and the most likely exact scores, with expected goals and each team's attack and defence strength; • a league's season projection: each team's chances of winning the title, finishing in the European places or being relegated, and its projected points, from tens of thousands of simulated seasons; • a power ranking: which teams are stronger or weaker than their league position suggests; • upcoming fixtures of a competition with their probabilities. Team nicknames are understood ("PSG", "Man City", "Barça"). Every answer names the model, the calculation date and links to the source page. Read-only, no account needed, no personal data.

Returns candidate matches with their match_id, to pass to get_match_probabilities. If several teams match (e.g. "Paris" = Paris FC or Paris Saint-Germain), all are returned: ask the user which one they mean.

Returns the probabilities for one football match from the free Dixon-Coles model offered by Docteur Bet: home win / draw / away win, over/under 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 goals, both teams to score, expected goals, most likely exact scores and team strengths. Get the match_id from find_match or get_upcoming_matches. Always cite the source, the model and the calculation date.

get_season_projection

Returns the current table of a league with a season projection from tens of thousands of seasons simulated with the free Dixon-Coles model offered by Docteur Bet: each team's chances of winning the title, finishing in Champions League and European places, being relegated, and its projected final points. Not available for cups or for leagues whose format the simulator does not handle (see list_competitions).

Returns the power ranking of a competition from the free Dixon-Coles model offered by Docteur Bet: each team's attack and defence strength relative to the league average (1 = average; a lower defence figure is better), an overall index (attack / defence), and the gap between its strength rank and its actual league position.

get_upcoming_matches

Lists the upcoming matches of one competition over the next days, each with home/draw/away probabilities from the free Dixon-Coles model offered by Docteur Bet, when published. The competition can be given by name ("Premier League", "Ligue 1", "Champions League"), common abbreviation ("EPL", "UCL") or id from list_competitions.
