Energy Figures

by Hinau Technologies

Overview

Energy Figures answers questions about home batteries in Australia from public data, and shows the answer as a small card that links to the matching page on energyfigures.com. It covers these things: Rebates. The federal battery rebate (Cheaper Home Batteries Program, paid as STCs) for any battery on the approved list, at the $40 clearing-house price, with the next scheduled step-down. With a state, it adds the NSW and WA schemes where they apply. Advertised prices. Current prices read from online shops and installer sites in the last seven days: price, kind (supply only or installed), seller name and date seen, with the lowest and median price per kWh. Ranking prices. The lowest advertised prices per kWh across all battery series, optionally for a size range. Listing batteries. The approved batteries as series or brands, filtered by brand or size and sorted by name, size, rebate or price per kWh. Installs by postcode. Batteries installed since July 2025 from Clean Energy Regulator data, the typical size, recent months against the three before, and an estimate of homes with solar and no battery. Quote facts. The same facts as the quote check on energyfigures.com for a price someone was quoted: price per kWh, rebate, advertised online price for the same battery, step-down and local installs. Facts only, no opinion of the quote. Every answer carries the date of the data. The app is read-only, needs no sign-in, doesn't save what you ask and covers Australia only.

Tools

check_battery_quote

Claude
Lists facts about a home battery quote in Australia, the same as the quote check on energyfigures.com: the price per kWh of usable storage, whether the battery is on the approved list, the federal rebate it can get, state rebates, the lowest advertised online price for the same battery, the next rebate step-down and installs in the postcode. Takes the battery, the price after rebates, the postcode, whether the quote includes solar panels, and optionally the rebate shown on the quote and the installer's name. States facts only, gives no opinion of the quote, and stores nothing. A battery name that matches several approved batteries returns them to choose from; one that matches none returns the closest names on the list.

find_battery

Claude
Searches Australia's approved home battery list (the batteries that can get the federal rebate) by brand, series, model name or usable size, for example 'powerwall 3', 'sigen 16', 'sigenstor', 'byd' or '13.5 kWh'. A brand alone lists its series; a size alone lists every series with that usable size. Returns up to 10 battery series and how many more match, each with its usable sizes in kWh, a configuration id per size and its Energy Figures page; with no match, the closest names on the list. The approved list often names a battery differently from shops, for example SigenStor is 'Sigen Energy Storage System'. Use this when a battery name is unclear, or to get a battery's configuration id.

get_advertised_prices

Claude
Returns current advertised prices for a home battery in Australia, read from online shops and installer sites in the last 7 days: price, kind (supply only, installed, or installed after rebate), seller name and the date last seen, lowest first, with the lowest and median price per kWh where there are enough offers. Without kind, one call covers all three kinds. With a kind that has no current offers, the result names the kinds that do, with the lowest price of each, or says there are none of any kind. Takes a battery name or a usable size in kWh; for a size alone, each offer names its battery. A battery name that matches several approved batteries returns them to choose from; one that matches none returns the closest names on the list. These are advertised prices, not quotes.

get_battery_rebate

Claude
Returns the Australian federal battery rebate (Cheaper Home Batteries Program, paid as STCs) for an approved battery: the amount up to the $40 clearing-house price, the number of certificates, the next scheduled step-down and the approval end date when it is near. With an Australian state it adds state rebates where they exist (NSW and WA). A battery name that matches several approved batteries returns them to choose from; one that matches none returns the closest names on the list. Use this when someone asks what rebate a home battery gets in Australia.

get_postcode_battery_stats

Claude
Returns home battery figures for an Australian postcode from Clean Energy Regulator data: batteries installed since the federal battery rebate started, the typical usable size, installs in the last three complete months against the three before, and an estimate of homes with solar but no battery. Use this when someone asks how many batteries are installed in or near an Australian postcode.

list_batteries

Claude
Lists Australia's approved home batteries (the ones that can get the federal battery rebate), as battery series or as brands, from the Energy Figures snapshot of the approved list. Each series comes with its usable sizes in kWh, the federal rebate at its largest size, the lowest advertised supply-only price per kWh when there is one, and its Energy Figures page; each brand with its number of series and size range. Filters: brand (any spelling), a usable size range in kWh, and whether an advertised price exists. Sorts by name, size, rebate or advertised price per kWh. Returns up to 50 series or 150 brands and how many more match. Use this for which batteries can get the rebate, listing the brands, batteries in a size range, the largest or smallest approved batteries, or which batteries have advertised prices.

rank_advertised_prices

Claude
Ranks current advertised home battery prices across every battery in Australia, lowest first, one line per battery series: its lowest price per usable kWh (or lowest price), size, seller name and the date seen, from online shops and installer sites in the last 7 days. The same figures as the Energy Figures prices page. Takes the kind of price (supply only by default, installed, or installed after rebate), an optional usable size range in kWh, and whether to rank by price per kWh (default) or by price. Use this for the lowest priced battery per kWh, the lowest advertised prices overall or within a size range, or which batteries have advertised prices. These are advertised prices, not quotes.
