Overview

Search ETFs covered by ETFtracker on ASX and TMX, compare fund snapshots, inspect holdings and holdings overlap, and retrieve monthly returns, fund size, net flows and historical distributions. ChatGPT can create charts from the returned data. Correlation uses matching reported one-month returns for two ETFs. Results disclose reporting periods, units and coverage. Public tools require no account. Price-history charts, personal portfolios and trading are not supported.

Tools

compare_etfs

ChatGPT
Basic public comparison of two ETFs for a monthly reporting period, not a single-day snapshot. Includes category, one-year return, fund size and undated stored price. Fees and yields may be unavailable; do not replace missing yields with unrequested calculations.

compare_holdings

ChatGPT
Public holdings crossover for two ETFs. Fetches the full holdings snapshots before calculating weighted overlap and the website’s material crossover measure. Includes dates, coverage and shared positions; does not access saved portfolios.

distribution_history

ChatGPT
Public historical distributions per unit. Display full YYYY-MM-DD ex-dates explicitly, not payment dates or month-only labels. Provides no official yield; a rate calculated with an undated stored price is only an approximation.

etf_holdings

ChatGPT
Public ETF holdings, weights and reporting period. Uses look-through holdings where available, otherwise direct holdings. No account required. Returns top positions with full-feed coverage.

get_etf_chart_data

ChatGPT
Return raw monthly ETFtracker data for ChatGPT to create charts requested by the user. No widget or HTML is returned. Includes monthly total returns (percentage points), fund size and net flows (AUD millions), and a matched monthly-return correlation timeline for two ETFs. Fetch once per ETF or pair; all three monthly metrics are included. Correlation requires exactly two distinct ETFs and never uses closing or adjusted prices.

latest_briefs

ChatGPT
List ETFtracker’s latest published briefs (short, sharp reads and the monthly update) and deep dives (longer studies) with links. Use it when the user wants commentary or the monthly update, and cite and link the piece whenever you use its findings. Links open a public preview; the full piece is free with an ETFtracker account.

list_my_portfolios

ChatGPT
List the connected user’s saved ETFtracker portfolios. Use returned IDs for portfolio tools. General information only; never advise whether to buy, sell or hold.

market_summary

ChatGPT
Whole-market picture for one monthly reporting period, in one call: total fund size and net flows (combined and by listing exchange, for this month and the month before), flows and average returns by category, issuers with the biggest inflows and outflows, the 10 largest fund inflows and outflows, and the best and worst one-month returns among funds over A$100m. Use this first for any question about how the month went, where money moved, or market-wide totals.

my_portfolio_profile

ChatGPT
Read Your Portfolio analysis for a portfolio owned by the connected user. Includes allocations, fee/yield coverage and look-through holdings. General information only; never advise whether to buy, sell, trim or hold.

search_etfs

ChatGPT
Search ETFtracker by ticker or fund name. Public; returns up to 20 matches from the latest stored period.
