get_adverse_findings
ChatGPTAdverse entries recorded against this company by an issuing authority: insolvency and winding-up entries, debarments and exclusions, enforcement records, secured financing and liens, and disputes, each reported in the issuing authority's own terms with its date and source. These are facts from a public record, not a risk score or a rating; GovIntel does not produce either. An empty result means nothing was found in the sources held, which is not the same as a clean record.
get_budget_exposure
ChatGPTFor a US federal contractor, the DoD budget accounts that fund its awards (from USAspending's award-to-account reporting) and each account's budget for last year, this year and the next request -- whether the money it is paid from is growing or shrinking. Award values are each award's total, not the account's share. Accounts are Treasury accounts (e.g. 057-3600, Air Force RDT&E); USAspending does not link awards to individual program elements.
get_company
ChatGPTThe registry record for one company: registered name, government identifier, status exactly as the register states it, legal form, incorporation date, registered address, industry, and which register it came from. Also returns a summary of what else is held on this company -- how many years of filed accounts, how many public contracts, how many adverse findings -- and, where relevant, which layers this country's register does not publish at all, so an empty section can be told apart from a clean record. For US companies it also returns what the company says about itself on its own website -- summary, capabilities, differentiators, customers it names, certifications it claims -- labelled as the company's claims, with the date the site was read.
get_coverage
ChatGPTList every layer of record GovIntel holds on one company, with how many entries each contains and the period it spans, but not the entries themselves. Layers include filed accounts, public contract awards, ownership and corporate control, secured financing and liens, litigation, debarments and exclusions, and adverse findings recorded by an authority. Use this to see what evidence exists before asking for any of it, and to tell an empty layer apart from one this jurisdiction does not publish at all.
get_defense_budget
ChatGPTThe U.S. Department of Defense budget from the DoD Comptroller's published budget books: RDT&E by program element (R-1), procurement by line item (P-1) and operation and maintenance (O-1), FY2017 onward. Returns the totals per fiscal year, the lines growing and shrinking most between the enacted year and the latest request, and -- when query names a program (title words such as 'golden dome' or a program element code such as 0604539D8Z) -- that program's figures year by year. Every figure is labelled actual, enacted or request; those are different things and are never added together.
get_financials
ChatGPTFiled annual accounts for one company, by financial year: revenue, equity and net result in the currency as filed. Sourced from the company's own filings with its national register. Absence of accounts can mean the company has not filed or that the register does not publish them; get_company distinguishes the two.
get_ownership_and_control
ChatGPTWho owns or controls this company, and what it owns in turn: parent and subsidiary relationships, and for companies outside the US the controlling parties declared to the national register. US parent and subsidiary relationships are resolved on the government-issued UEI rather than on company names. For US contractors it also returns SBA ownership certifications (8(a), WOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone and similar), each a documented government determination that at least 51% of the company is owned and controlled by qualifying individuals, and foreign ownership and control indicators: proximity in state registration records to foreign-controlled anchors, which for a federal contractor are reached by company name and say so. Beneficial-ownership registries that are not public are not used and never will be; this is what the company itself has declared to a government.
get_past_performance
ChatGPTPublic contracts this company has been awarded: the buying authority, what the contract was for, its value, and when it was published, plus which authorities awarded to it more than once. For US companies this includes federal prime awards and US state and local government awards; state portals publish no federal identifier, so state and local awards are joined on the company name and are labelled as such. This records what the company was HIRED to do. No procurement authority outside the United States publishes a performance rating, and none is implied or inferred here.
search_companies
ChatGPTResolve a company name to a specific registered company across 72 million companies in 19 countries: US federal contractors registered in SAM, US state business registrations, and 18 national business registers outside the US. Returns each candidate with the government identifier it is keyed on, so two companies sharing a name can be told apart. Use this first to obtain a company_id for the other tools. Search by the company's own registered name; for registers in a non-Latin script both the native name and any published English name are matched. This tool establishes identity; the registry record itself and everything filed against it are returned by the other tools.
