Grammaropolis

by Grammaropolis

Overview

Grammaropolis teaches grammar through a cast of characters who each are a part of speech or a punctuation mark. This connector gives Claude direct, read-only access to the Grammaropolis catalog so it can build lessons on the real concepts, characters, and Common Core standards behind the curriculum, across all five departments (Parts of Speech, the Punctuation Department, the Sentence Factory, The Writing Company, and Wonderful Words), Grades 1 through 8. It serves the full lesson body for each department's free anchor unit, 40 free lessons in all (one unit per department, every grade), and returns details plus a link for everything else. No account, no sign-in, and no student data.

Tools

about_grammaropolis

Claude
Background on Grammaropolis for a teacher: what it is (character-led grammar, Grades 1-8, five pillars), the Mayor, the five-step teaching cycle, how the free and paid tiers work, and the key links. Call this to explain the product or its method before recommending lessons.

find_lessons_for_standard

Claude
Given a Common Core (CCSS) ELA-Literacy code (e.g. 'L.4.1' or 'CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.4.1'), return every Grammaropolis lesson that covers it. Grammaropolis lessons are indexed by CCSS only: codes from other frameworks (Texas TEKS, Florida B.E.S.T., or another state's) are not indexed and will not match, so this tool requires the CCSS equivalent.

get_lesson

Claude
Fetch one lesson by its cell_uid (from list_lessons or find_lessons_for_standard). For a free anchor concept, returns the full lesson body (the five-step teaching cycle). For a paid concept, returns metadata plus a deep link to the lesson's page on grammaropolis.com and an honest note that the full lesson is part of the paid catalog. Never returns paid body content.

list_lessons

Claude
Browse lesson metadata across the catalog, optionally filtered. pillar is a pillar key (pos, pd, sf, wc, ww). grade is an integer 1-8. topic matches a grammar term or concept slug the way a teacher phrases it (e.g. 'proper nouns', 'commas', 'subjects and predicates', 'persuasive writing'). Returns metadata only (title, characters, CCSS codes, free/paid, a one-line description, and a deep link); use get_lesson for a full free lesson body.

list_pillars

Claude
List the five Grammaropolis curriculum pillars (Parts of Speech, Punctuation Department, Sentence Factory, The Writing Company, Wonderful Words), each with its hub URL, print workbook line, free anchor concept, lesson counts, and a free_games list of free, no-sign-in Grammaropolis Arcade games for that department (a good practice complement to a lesson). Call this first to orient before listing or fetching lessons.
