Overview

Grammaropolis teaches grammar and writing through characters who are the parts of speech and the punctuation marks. Nelson the Noun files every name in town, Vinny the Action Verb is always mid-rescue, and the Mayor certifies good work. This plugin gives teachers of Grades 1 through 8 six classroom tools built on that cast: - Pacing guide: plans your grammar year week by week from your calendar and standards. - Lesson planner: builds one complete lesson on a topic or a standard, with a character-led hook and the full Learn, Assess, Practice, Create, and Certified cycle. - Daily sentence: writes five-minute warm-ups with a key that explains every answer. - Exit tickets: writes short checks whose keys tell you what each wrong answer means, so you know what to reteach. - Prewriting toolkit: runs one story through eight prewriting techniques so students see how each one works. - Writing rubrics: builds Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Not Yet rubrics for seven writing modes, with a student self-check. It also connects to the Grammaropolis lesson catalog, so you can find the lessons that teach a Common Core or Texas TEKS code, browse by grade and topic, and open any free lesson in full. The connection is read-only and needs no account. It receives catalog lookups (a topic, a grade, or a standards code) and never asks for students' names or work.

Tools

about_grammaropolis

ChatGPT
Background on Grammaropolis for a teacher: what it is (character-led grammar, Grades 1-8, five departments), the Mayor, the five-step teaching cycle, how the free and paid tiers work, and the key links. Call this to explain the product or its method before recommending lessons.

find_lessons_for_standard

ChatGPT
Given a Common Core (CCSS) ELA-Literacy code (e.g. 'L.4.1' or 'CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.4.1') or a Texas TEKS code (e.g. 'TEKS.ELA.4.11.D.x'), return every Grammaropolis lesson that teaches it, and separately (partly_addressed_by) the lessons that only touch it. Codes from other frameworks (Florida B.E.S.T., New York, or another state's) aren't indexed and won't match.

get_lesson

ChatGPT
Fetch one lesson by its cell_uid (from list_lessons or find_lessons_for_standard). For a free lesson, returns the full lesson body (the five-step teaching cycle). For a paid concept, returns metadata plus a deep link to the lesson's page on grammaropolis.com and an honest note that the full lesson is part of the paid catalog. Never returns paid body content.

list_lessons

ChatGPT
Browse lesson metadata across the catalog, optionally filtered. pillar is a pillar key (pos, pd, sf, wc, ww). grade is an integer 1-8. topic matches a grammar term or concept slug the way a teacher phrases it (e.g. 'proper nouns', 'commas', 'subjects and predicates', 'persuasive writing'). Returns metadata only (title, characters, the standards codes the lesson teaches, the codes it only partly addresses, free/paid, a one-line description, and a deep link); use get_lesson for a full free lesson body.

list_pillars

ChatGPT
List the five Grammaropolis curriculum departments (Parts of Speech, Punctuation Department, Sentence Factory, The Writing Company, Wonderful Words), each with its hub URL, print workbook line, free lesson, lesson counts, and a free_games list of free, no-sign-in Grammaropolis Arcade games for that department (a good practice complement to a lesson). Call this first to orient before listing or fetching lessons.

skill_started

ChatGPT
Counts one run of a Grammaropolis teacher skill and returns the catalog version the lessons come from. Use it when a Grammaropolis teacher skill starts. Takes only the skill's package name; the count is kept in aggregate, with no teacher or student data and no conversation text.
