Overview
Hut Finder shows availability for more than 400 New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC) huts, lodges and campsites, including the Great Walks. Tell Claude where and when you want to go and how many of you there are, and it checks every hut and campsite at once instead of one booking page at a time. No account needed to: - Find huts, lodges and campsites with space for your group on your dates, by region or island, with the weather forecast for huts. - Check one hut or campsite night by night. Hut Finder checks DOC live when you ask about a single place. - Plan a multi-night tramp, such as the Routeburn or the Abel Tasman Coast Track, and see whether every night works for your group. - Search by name, region, island, track or size. Sign in with your Hut Finder account to: - See further ahead: 14 days on a free account, 12 months on Hut Finder Pro. - Get emailed when a booked-out hut or campsite has space again, and create, list or cancel those alerts from Claude. Free accounts include one alert for fixed dates; Pro adds flexible dates, chosen weekdays, daily digests and whole-trip alerts for the Great Walks and other popular tracks. Hut Finder doesn't take bookings: every result links straight to the DOC booking page. Search results may be cached, so ask about a specific hut for a live check before you book.
Tools
check_trip
ClaudeCheck a multi-night tramp night by night: either a Great Walk or track (huts in walking order from a start date) or your own list of hut-and-date nights. Reports each night's space for the party and whether the whole trip works. Availability may be cached; for a live result, check a specific hut with get_hut. Dates beyond 14 days ahead need a signed-in account with a 12-month window.
create_hut_alert
ClaudeEmail the signed-in user when space opens up at one or more huts. Fixed dates (arrive and leave) or, on Pro, a flexible window with optional weekdays and a daily digest. Hut Finder sends a confirmation email with a cancel link. Requires sign-in.
create_trip_alert
ClaudeEmail the signed-in user when every hut on a Great Walk or track has space on consecutive nights for their party, starting anywhere in a date window. Pro only. Hut Finder sends a confirmation email with a cancel link. Requires sign-in.

search_huts
ClaudeFind New Zealand DOC huts, lodges and campsites that Hut Finder tracks, by name, region, island, Great Walk or track, category or size. Returns each listing's facility id, region, capacity and links. Does not check availability; use find_available_huts for dates or get_hut for one hut.
