Overview
Keep a personal record of the films you watch. Search Wikipedia, choose the right film, and save your watch date, a one-to-five-star rating and favourite status. Open your diary in ChatGPT or in your browser, edit mistakes, and restore entries from Recently deleted. Each signed-in person has a separate private diary. Movie details come from Wikipedia and Wikidata; posters appear only when matching artwork and reusable rights can be verified. Index does not connect to or modify a Letterboxd account.

ChatGPTMove exactly one authenticated user-owned entry to Recently deleted. Read its id and revision first. The entry is recoverable using restore_entry; nothing is permanently erased. Only delete the entry the user requests.
dismiss_movie_suggestion
ChatGPTRemove exactly this film from the authenticated user’s Suggested movies section, only when requested. Leaves their watchlist and watched entries unchanged. Safe to retry; the suggestion and its reason are removed, not sent to Recently deleted.
edit_entry
ChatGPTPersistently overwrite one entry in the authenticated user’s private cloud diary. This writes the changed movie, watch date, rating, favourite and poster choice to the account database and increments its revision; it is not a preview. Read it first for id and revision. Can correct the selected movie using a newly searched and user-confirmed pageId, and edit its watch date, rating, favourite or poster visibility. Never silently change film identity. Rejects stale concurrent changes.
list_diary

log_movie
ChatGPTSave a verified movie to the authenticated user’s private diary with their watch date, 1–5 star rating, and favourite choice. Search first. Ask the user to choose the exact year/director when titles match multiple films; never automatically pick the first result. Repeating the same movie/date returns the original entry unchanged.
move_suggestion_to_watchlist
ChatGPTWhen requested, move one of the authenticated user’s suggested films to Want to Watch, removing it and its explanation from Suggested movies. Keeps any existing watchlist item unchanged. Does not mark the film watched or set a rating. Safe to retry.
remove_from_watchlist
ChatGPTRemove only this verified movie from the authenticated user’s Want to Watch list. Does not affect watched film entries. Safe to retry.
restore_entry
ChatGPTRestore the authenticated user’s recoverable deleted entry. Read list_diary with includeDeleted true first for id and revision. Safe to retry.
save_movie_suggestions
ChatGPTSave the user-confirmed recommended films to their private Suggested Movies section on the Index website and ChatGPT diary. A request such as "what movies do you recommend?" is NOT permission to save. First recommend films normally, then ask "Would you like me to add these to Suggested Movies in your movie diary?" Call only after the user agrees to the specific films. Search and resolve ambiguous titles/years before saving. Optional reasons must be brief and film-focused, without sensitive personal context or copied conversation history. Does not add to Watchlist, mark watched, or set ratings. Duplicates and retries preserve existing suggestions unchanged. Ownership comes only from the authenticated account.
search_movies
ChatGPTSearch Wikipedia for real movies by title, with release years and source links. Use before logging. If names are ambiguous, ask the user to select a result; never guess a film. Search text is sent to Wikimedia.
set_favorite
ChatGPTPersistently set the authenticated user’s saved favourite status for an already logged movie. Overwrites the favourite flag across all active watches of that movie in the account database; setting false removes it from favourites.
show_diary
