Overview

Langua is an AI language tutor for speaking practice. This plugin turns your ChatGPT conversation into practice you can take into Langua. What you can do: • Save phrases. Ask for the phrases you need, or paste your own, and Langua builds a deck of flip cards with a quick self-test. Add it to Langua and the phrases go into spaced-repetition review with audio. • Rehearse a real situation out loud. Describe a job interview, a call to your landlord or a visit to the doctor, and Langua sets up a spoken roleplay with your role, the goal, your level and the phrases to use. In Langua you speak with a realistic AI voice partner, hands-free in Call Mode if you like, with corrections and a feedback report afterwards. • Start from zero. A complete beginner gets a guided lesson that teaches a few phrases at a time. Progress is saved in the learner's Langua account. Who it is for: learners at any level, from first words to breaking through the intermediate plateau, in 20+ languages including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Hindi. Tell it the language you are learning and your own language, and it writes the cards in both. It handles variants such as European Portuguese or Austrian German. Limitations: Langua prepares language-practice activities. It does not translate passages, explain grammar, check or correct your own writing, or make flashcards for non-language subjects. Each card shows in ChatGPT with no sign-in. Opening an activity needs a Langua account.

Examples: "save these phrases so I get reminded to review them", "I want a spaced-repetition deck of these words", "flashcards I can review on my phone tomorrow and next week", "save these words and let me practise using them out loud", "make me flashcards for my trip to Lisbon". The tool shows flip cards with a quick self-test. The card's button saves the deck to the learner's Langua account, where Langua schedules spaced-repetition reviews with audio and the learner can practise the phrases out loud in a voice conversation. Give 1 to 30 items: the target-language word or phrase on the front, its meaning on the back. Do not use for translation, grammar explanations, non-language flashcards (for example biology or history facts), or checking or correcting the learner's own writing (emails, cover letters, essays, sentences).

Use this when the learner wants to practise speaking a foreign language out loud with an AI voice partner that replies by voice and gives feedback on their speaking, or wants to rehearse a spoken conversation for a real situation. Examples: "set up a spoken roleplay with voice so I can rehearse my Spanish job interview", "I want to practise speaking Portuguese with an AI voice partner that gives me feedback", "practise ordering at a restaurant in Italian by actually talking, with a partner who corrects me", a date, the bank, the doctor, the landlord, small talk, a pitch. The tool shows a scenario card with the role, goal, level, voice and target phrases. The card's button starts the spoken roleplay in the Langua app, where the partner speaks at the learner's level and gives feedback on pronunciation and phrasing. If the learner is a complete beginner (A1), use start_beginner_lesson instead. The tool shows a lesson card. The card's button starts a guided lesson in the Langua app: Langua teaches a few phrases one at a time with audio, runs a short spoken roleplay that uses them, and saves the learner's progress so the next lesson continues from there. Do not use for learners above beginner level (use plan_speaking_practice for them).
