Overview

Lexpad is a personal vocabulary notebook with spaced repetition, in 81 languages. Connect it and Claude works with the words you have collected yourself. - Save words you ask for. "Save ubiquitous with an example about phones." Claude writes the meaning and examples and saves the word to your notebook. A word you already have moves to the top instead of being duplicated. - Find anything in your notebook. Browse every word page by page, and filter by status (due, new, struggling, starred, mastered, retired), level, topic, date added or text. Open a word in full, or see counts and your streak. - Practise. "Quiz me on today's due words." Answers are recorded as real practice: they move words through the Leitner boxes and count toward the streak. - Edit. Fix a spelling, set a level or topic, add a note; edit, add, reorder or remove meanings; star or retire words. Deleting a word is a separate permission you approve when connecting. Edits and deletions are marked destructive, so Claude asks first. What it never does: it never invents vocabulary you did not ask for, cannot see your e-mail address or password, cannot delete your account or a notebook, and cannot make payments. Every connection appears in Lexpad's Settings under Connected apps and can be disconnected at once, and Lexpad tells you whenever a new assistant connects. Requires a free Lexpad account (app.lexpad.app).

Tools

add_meaning

ChatGPT
Adds one meaning, with examples, in the notebook's meaning language, to a word already in the notebook. It only adds; nothing is replaced or removed.

add_word

ChatGPT
Saves one word or phrase the user asked to save to their notebook, with meanings in the notebook's meaning language and examples in its target language. If the notebook already has the word, it moves to the top and only new meanings are added.

delete_word

ChatGPT
Deletes one word from the user's notebook, with its meanings and their practice progress, on every device. It cannot be undone here. Needs the separate words:delete permission.

get_due_words

ChatGPT
The words due for review today in the user's own timezone, a page at a time (next_cursor).

get_recent_words

ChatGPT
The words most recently added, newest first, a page at a time (next_cursor).

get_word

ChatGPT
One word's full card: every meaning with examples, collocations, notes, and the user's progress (box, due date, right and wrong answers, their own note), which schedule its notebook uses (boxes or smart) and, in a smart notebook, the chance in percent that the user remembers it today.

list_notebooks

ChatGPT
The user's notebooks with their ids, languages, word counts and which one is the default.

list_words

ChatGPT
The user's words, a page at a time, with filters: due, new/not_started, struggling, starred, mastered, retired, corrections, hard_spelling; a level, a topic, a date range, a text query and a sort. notebook_id all covers every notebook. The first page says how many words match (total). While more words match, a page ends with next_cursor; sent back as cursor with the same arguments, it returns the next page.

notebook_stats

ChatGPT
Per notebook: how many words, due today, new, mastered, struggling, starred and hard to spell; and the user's streak.

record_answer

ChatGPT
Records whether the user answered a practice question about a word correctly. It counts like a review in the app: it moves the word's box, the day's numbers and the streak, and the result gives the word's next review date. A right answer to a word that is not due yet may be saved as practice, which keeps its next review (scheduleChanged false). Each answer carries its own client_id, so the same answer sent twice counts once.

remove_meaning

ChatGPT
Removes one meaning, with its examples, from a word, chosen by its position in the word's card. It cannot be undone.

reorder_meanings

ChatGPT
Puts a word's meanings in a new order. The first one is the main meaning, the one practice asks about. order lists every current index once, e.g. [2, 0, 1] makes the third meaning the main one.

search_words

ChatGPT
The best matches for a query in one notebook, in either language, best first. It returns at most 50 and does not page or filter.

set_retired

ChatGPT
Retires a word the user knows well enough (it stops coming up in practice and keeps its progress), or brings a retired word back.

set_starred

ChatGPT
Stars or unstars a word, as the star on its card does. Starred words have their own practice deck.

update_meaning

ChatGPT
Changes one meaning of a word, chosen by its position in the word's card: its text, its gloss, or its examples (a list given replaces them). Fields not given stay as they are. The previous text is replaced.

update_word

ChatGPT
Changes a word's headword, part of speech, level, topic, pronunciation, hard-to-spell mark or the user's private note. Only the fields given change; meanings and practice progress are not touched. A headword the notebook already has is refused. The previous values are replaced.

whoami

ChatGPT
The Lexpad account this connection acts for: an id, the display name and how many notebooks it has.
