LogMeIn Resolve

by GoTo Technologies USA, LLC

Overview

LogMeIn Resolve is a unified endpoint management (UEM) and remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform for internal IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs). This connector brings your Resolve environment into Claude, so you can ask about your fleet in plain language and act on the answer in the same place. What IT teams use it for: - See the whole estate at once — device health, alerts, and inventory across every account and tenant you manage, instead of clicking through them one by one - Cut alert noise — review what's firing, spot the pattern, and acknowledge in bulk - Automate the busywork — run scripts and Remote Execution jobs across the fleet, then check status without opening a separate console - Move tickets forward — read the queue, draft updates, and open tickets with the right service and priority already set - Answer hardware and software inventory questions on the spot — what's deployed, where, and on which version, across every device you manage - Capture what you learn — turn a resolved issue into a Knowledge Base article while the detail is still fresh - Start remote support faster — set up a session and send the invitation without leaving the conversation - Connect Resolve to your other tools — e.g., “Check this device's alert history in Resolve, then post a summary to our incident channel in Slack.” The connector is most valuable where endpoint data meets everything around it: correlating an alert with the ticket it produced, or turning device and ticket history into a report a client can read. It acts on behalf of the signed-in technician and stays within that user's existing Resolve permissions. Read actions never change data; creates, updates, and session actions are yours to approve. Requires a LogMeIn Resolve account. Learn more at logmein.com/products/resolve.

Tools

acknowledge_alerts

ChatGPT
Acknowledge one to 100 LogMeIn Resolve alerts by their alert and device IDs. Use list_alerts to find these IDs first. Accepts the batch for acknowledgement and returns all acknowledged IDs.

add_helpdesk_ticket_comment

ChatGPT
Add a comment to a LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident). Use this after list_helpdesk_tickets returns a referenceNum, or when the user provides a ticket number directly. Returns the ticket the comment was added to.

close_remote_support_session

ChatGPT
Close an active remote support session by its session_id. The caller must have been connected to the session, or have admin capability to close any session in their account.

create_asset

ChatGPT
Add one or more hardware assets to the LogMeIn Resolve inventory in one call. Put every item in assets; each item requires name and category_id. Every other field is optional — supply only what the user gave you. Use search_end_users to resolve assigned_user_id, and use the list_asset_* tools to resolve locations, location details, labels, manufacturers, models, and vendors to ids. Call list_asset_categories first to get valid category ids. Setting is_loaned to true or supplying return_date requires assigned_user_id on the same item — an asset cannot be loaned to nobody. Which device-info fields apply depends on each item's category_id: Monitors only accept display_size/resolution/ports, Printer only accepts ip_addresses/mac_addresses/hostname/print_technology/print_modes/print_color, Router only accepts ip_addresses/mac_addresses/hostname/ports, and every other category (Desktop, Laptop, Mobile, Tablets, Uncategorized, and custom categories) accepts the rest. Before creating, this checks every item's category and required custom fields itself and rejects the complete batch — reporting every problem with stable assets[index] references — if a device-info field does not apply to the category or a required custom field (see list_asset_custom_field_definitions) is missing from custom_fields. No asset is created when local validation finds any problem. Native bulk creation can still partially succeed when the backend rejects individual records; the response includes successful assets and backend errors together, so check inventory and do not retry records already returned. Prefer update_asset when records already exist.

create_asset_common_model

ChatGPT
Add a new model record assets can be linked to. Use list_asset_common_models first to check whether one already exists — this does not check for duplicates. Returns the created model with its new id, for use as common_model_id on create_asset/update_asset.

create_asset_label

ChatGPT
Add a new label assets can be tagged with. Use list_asset_labels first to check whether one already exists — this does not check for duplicates. Returns the created label with its new id, for use in label_ids on create_asset/update_asset.

create_asset_location

ChatGPT
Add a new location assets can be assigned to. Use list_asset_locations first to check whether one already exists — this does not check for duplicates. Returns the created location with its new id, for use as location_id on create_asset/update_asset.

create_asset_location_details

ChatGPT
Add a new location detail (desk, room, or similar spot within a location) that assets can be assigned to. Use list_asset_location_details first to check whether one already exists — this does not check for duplicates. Returns the created location detail with its new id, for use as location_details_id on create_asset/update_asset.

create_asset_manufacturer

ChatGPT
Add a new manufacturer record assets can be linked to. Use list_asset_manufacturers first to check whether one already exists — this does not check for duplicates. Returns the created manufacturer with its new id, for use as manufacturer_id on create_asset/update_asset.

create_helpdesk_ticket

ChatGPT
Create a new LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident). Requires a title, a service_id (from list_helpdesk_services), and a priority_id (from get_helpdesk_services). Optionally set a description (summary), category, status, assignee, requester, due date, followers, tags, and custom fields - use get_helpdesk_services to look up the ids for a given service, and list_helpdesk_user to look up user ids. Returns the created ticket.

create_kb_document

ChatGPT
Create a published text-only Knowledge Base document from Markdown. File and binary uploads are not supported. The result may be a document or a draft when approval is required.

create_kb_draft

ChatGPT
Create an unpublished text-only Knowledge Base draft from Markdown. Provide document_id for a draft of an existing document, or title for a standalone draft. File and binary uploads are not supported.

create_kb_folder

ChatGPT
Create a Knowledge Base folder at the root level or beneath a supplied parent folder. Omit parent_folder_id for a root-level folder.

create_software

ChatGPT
Add one or more software assets to the LogMeIn Resolve register in one call. Put every item in software_assets; each requires name, software_category_id, and software_model, while authentication flags default to false per item. The complete batch is validated before the single bulk write, and no software is created when local validation finds any problem. Native bulk creation can still partially succeed when the backend rejects individual records; the response includes successful records and backend errors together, so do not retry records already returned. Authentication compatibility and required custom fields are reported with stable software_assets[index] references. Prefer update_software when records already exist.

delete_asset

ChatGPT
Permanently remove one hardware asset from the inventory. This cannot be undone, so confirm the asset with the user before calling — use get_asset to show them what will be removed. Deletes exactly one asset by id; there is no bulk delete here by design. Returns the asset as it was at deletion.

delete_kb_document

ChatGPT
Permanently delete a published Knowledge Base document and its associated drafts. This cannot be undone.

delete_kb_draft

ChatGPT
Permanently delete an unpublished Knowledge Base draft. This cannot be undone.

delete_kb_folder

ChatGPT
Delete a Knowledge Base folder. To preserve its documents and subfolders, provide new_content_parent. To permanently delete every item in its subtree, explicitly set delete_subtree_content to true.

delete_software

ChatGPT
Permanently remove one software asset from the register, along with its purchase and license records. This cannot be undone, so confirm the software with the user before calling — use get_software to show them what will be removed, including how many installations and licenses are attached. Deletes exactly one record by id; there is no bulk delete here by design. Returns the software record as it was at deletion.

get_asset

ChatGPT
Get one hardware asset by its asset_id, with every tracked detail: assignment and lifecycle state, assigned user and place, manufacturer, serial number, model, warranty and lifecycle dates, purchase and financial information, full device specification, location, labels, and custom fields. Use this after search_assets returns an id, or when the user supplies an asset ID directly. Returns the asset without pagination.

get_device

ChatGPT
Get one LogMeIn Resolve device by its device_id. Use this after search_devices returns an ID, or another tool provides a device ID. Returns the requested device details without pagination. Prefer standard detail_level for a concise answer and full when the user asks for complete device information.

get_helpdesk_services

ChatGPT
Get one LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk service by its id, including its full configuration: priorities (with SLA minutes), categories, incident statuses, and custom fields. Use this after list_helpdesk_services returns a service id, or when the user asks about a specific helpdesk service configuration.

get_helpdesk_ticket

ChatGPT
Get one LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident) by its reference number. Use this after list_helpdesk_tickets returns a referenceNum, or when the user provides a ticket number directly. Returns the full ticket including requester, assignee, status, priority, category, and the description (in symptoms[].note).

get_helpdesk_ticket_history

ChatGPT
Get the full change history of one LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident) by its reference number: every status change, comment, and field update, oldest and newest included. Use this after list_helpdesk_tickets or get_helpdesk_ticket returns a referenceNum. The response is never truncated.

Retrieve whether LogMeIn Resolve Knowledge Base approvals and direct publishing are enabled for the current user.

get_remote_execution_run

ChatGPT
Get normalized summary details for one Remote Execution run by run_id, including status, timing, owner, device and host-status counts, step types, timeout, platform, and scheduling metadata. Use list_remote_execution_run_hosts for per-device outcomes or get_remote_execution_run_task for the ordered task steps.

get_remote_execution_run_host_log

ChatGPT
Get the combined log text for one device in a Remote Execution run, covering all of that device’s steps. Use list_remote_execution_run_hosts first to find host_id (device.id) and confirm has_log is true. This does not return a per-step log. The log can be larger than one response; use content_offset and content_length to page through it, following content_range.next_offset until it is absent.

get_remote_execution_run_task

ChatGPT
Get the task snapshot for one Remote Execution run. Returns task metadata and ordered steps with arguments plus safe file metadata. Transport-only file signatures, hashes, and signed download URLs are deliberately omitted. This tool does not download files or logs.

get_remote_support_session

ChatGPT
Get the historical report for a single remote support session by its session_id. Returns session id, timing (started/ended as ISO 8601 timestamps), duration, session type, recording info, agent, customer/agent IPs, external case fields, and the connected device. Set include_ai_insights to true to also return an AI-generated session title, summary, categories, and applications used. Use this for auditing or reporting a specific past session - it does not start, close, or otherwise affect a live session.

get_remote_support_session_state

ChatGPT
Get the current state of a remote support session by its session_id. Returns the session state, including whether it is active, ended, or in progress. This tool can be used to monitor the status of a session after it has been started.

get_software

ChatGPT
Get one software asset by its software_id, with every tracked detail: publisher, category, licensing model, business-criticality priority, purpose and notes, authentication types, internal and external contacts, purchase and license records (order and invoice numbers, vendor, price, currency, billing cycle, license type and count), license notifications, labels, and custom fields. Use this after search_software_assets returns an id, or when the user supplies a software ID directly. Returns the software record without pagination.

goto_ping

ChatGPT
Echo tool. Returns pong to verify MCP connectivity.

list_accounts

ChatGPT
List the LogMeIn Resolve accounts the current user can access. Use this to look up an account's ID and name. Returns JSON.

list_alerts

ChatGPT
List active or acknowledged LogMeIn Resolve alerts for the authenticated account. Use filters to narrow alerts by device, tenant, rule type, priority, or trigger time. Returns alert IDs, device and policy details, acknowledgement state, and continuation-token pagination. Pass pagination.continuation_token unchanged to fetch the next page.

list_asset_categories

ChatGPT
List the hardware asset categories configured for the account. Every asset belongs to exactly one category, and create_asset requires a category_id, so call this first when adding an asset. The category also determines which device-info fields create_asset/update_asset accept and get_asset/search_assets return: categories named Monitors, Printer, or Router each get a restricted field set, everything else gets the full set — see create_asset's description for the exact split. Returns each category id and name. Categories are not paginated — the whole set comes back at once.

list_asset_common_models

ChatGPT
List the common model records assets can be linked to. Use this to resolve a model name into the common_model_id that create_asset and update_asset expect. If the one the user wants isn't here, use create_asset_common_model to add it. Returns each model id and name. Not paginated.

list_asset_custom_field_definitions

ChatGPT
List the custom field definitions available on assets — their id, name, value type, scope, and applicable category. get_asset and search_assets return custom field values against these definitions; create_asset and update_asset use the definition id as custom_fields.definition_id. Returns each definition id, name, type, scope, applicable category (null means it applies to every category), and whether it is required. create_asset already checks required definitions itself, so use this to discover ids and value types up front, or to explain to the user what is missing. Not paginated.

list_asset_labels

ChatGPT
List the labels that can be applied to hardware assets. Use this to turn label names into the label_ids that create_asset, update_asset, and the search_assets label filter expect. If the one the user wants isn't here, use create_asset_label to add it. Returns each label id, name, and colour. Not paginated. These are asset labels; software labels are separate — use list_software_labels for those.

list_asset_location_details

ChatGPT
List the location details an asset can be assigned to — desks, rooms, and similar spots within a location. Use this to resolve a location detail the user names into the location_details_id that create_asset and update_asset expect. If the one the user wants isn't here, use create_asset_location_details to add it. Returns each location detail id and name. Not paginated.

list_asset_locations

ChatGPT
List the locations assets can be placed at. Use this to resolve a location name the user mentions into the location_id that create_asset, update_asset, and the search_assets location filter expect. If the one the user wants isn't here, use create_asset_location to add it. Returns each location id, name, and address. Not paginated.

list_asset_manufacturers

ChatGPT
List the manufacturer records assets can be linked to. Use this to resolve a manufacturer name into the manufacturer_id that create_asset and update_asset expect, and that the search_assets manufacturer filter uses. If the one the user wants isn't here, use create_asset_manufacturer to add it. Returns each manufacturer id and name. Not paginated.

list_asset_vendors

ChatGPT
List the vendors assets can be purchased from. Use this to resolve a vendor the user names into the vendor_id that create_asset and update_asset expect when recording purchase information. Returns each vendor id, name, address, and contact. Not paginated.

list_helpdesk_services

ChatGPT
List the LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk services available to the authenticated account, along with account-level helpdesk metadata. Use this to discover a service before working with tickets or users, or pass a returned service id to get_helpdesk_services for its full configuration.

list_helpdesk_tickets

ChatGPT
List LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk tickets (incidents) for the authenticated account. Use this when the user wants to browse, filter, or count support tickets. Filter by helpdesk (service_id), status, priority, category, assignee, requester, tags, and date ranges, plus keyword search and sorting. Each ticket includes the requester and the ticket description (in symptoms[].note) by default, along with pagination metadata. If pagination.has_more is true, call again with page_number increased by 1.

list_helpdesk_user

ChatGPT
List LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk users for the authenticated account. Use this to resolve the user ids referenced by tickets, or to look up a user by name or email. Requires user_type (CUSTOMER for ticket requesters, USER for agents); optionally filter further by keyword. If pagination.has_more is true, call again with a larger limit to see more users.

list_kb_documents

ChatGPT
List published LogMeIn Resolve Knowledge Base documents. Filter by visibility, folder, tenant, or text, and use one-based pagination. Pass folder_id as "none" to list only documents not in a folder.

list_kb_drafts

ChatGPT
List unpublished LogMeIn Resolve Knowledge Base drafts. Filter by visibility, tenant, or text, and use one-based pagination.

list_kb_folders

ChatGPT
Retrieve the complete LogMeIn Resolve Knowledge Base folder hierarchy, including root folders, nested folders, and whether documents exist outside folders.

list_remote_execution_run_hosts

ChatGPT
List per-device execution results for one Remote Execution run. Returns device identity and tenant/group context, status and timing, failure reason, scheduling data, and each step status. Use get_remote_execution_run_task to match step_id values to ordered task steps. This tool does not return or download logs.

list_remote_execution_runs

ChatGPT
List Remote Execution job runs for an authenticated LogMeIn Resolve account using bounded offset pagination. The tool always limits results to the RemoteExecution app and can filter by tenant, device, run type, display name, and run time. Returns normalized run status, timing, owner, device counts, step types, and pagination. Use get_remote_execution_run, list_remote_execution_run_hosts, or get_remote_execution_run_task for details about a returned run_id.

list_remote_support_sessions

ChatGPT
List historical remote support sessions reported between start and end (ISO 8601 timestamps). Returns session id, timing (started/ended as ISO 8601 timestamps), duration, session type, recording info, agent, customer/agent IPs, external case fields, and the connected device. Set include_ai_insights to true to also return an AI-generated session title, summary, categories, and applications used, for each session. Use this for auditing or reporting past sessions - it does not start, close, or otherwise affect a live session.

list_software_categories

ChatGPT
List the software categories configured for the account. Every software asset belongs to exactly one category, and create_software requires a software_category_id, so call this first when adding software. Returns each category id and name. Not paginated — the whole set comes back at once.

list_software_custom_field_definitions

ChatGPT
List the custom field definitions available on software assets — their id, name, value type, scope, and applicable category. get_software and search_software_assets return custom field values against these definitions; create_software and update_software use the definition id as custom_fields.definition_id. Returns each definition id, name, type, scope, applicable category (null means it applies to every category), and whether it is required. create_software already checks required definitions itself, so use this to discover ids and value types up front, or to explain to the user what is missing. Not paginated.

list_software_labels

ChatGPT
List the labels that can be applied to software assets. Use this to turn label names into the software_label_ids that create_software, update_software, and the search_software_assets label filter expect. Returns each label id, name, and colour. Not paginated. These are software labels; hardware asset labels are separate — use list_asset_labels for those.

list_software_publishers

ChatGPT
List the software publishers on record. Use this to resolve a publisher the user names into the software_publisher_id that create_software and update_software expect, and that the search_software_assets publisher filter uses. Returns each publisher id and name. Not paginated.

list_tenants

ChatGPT
List the tenants configured for a LogMeIn Resolve account. Returns each tenant's name and uuid. Use the returned uuid to reference a tenant in other tools.

move_kb_document

ChatGPT
Move a published Knowledge Base document to a folder, or pass folder_id as null to move it to the root level.

publish_kb_draft

ChatGPT
Publish an unpublished Knowledge Base draft. Publishing changes the draft into a published document.

search_assets

ChatGPT
Search the LogMeIn Resolve hardware asset inventory. Use this when the user asks about tracked hardware — laptops, monitors, phones, printers — including who an asset is assigned to, where it is, its serial number, or its warranty and lifecycle dates. Combine search_text with the filters to narrow results. Returns a summary per asset (id, name, tag, category, serial number, manufacturer, model, host and OS, assignment status, assigned user, location, labels) plus pagination metadata including the total number of matches. Call get_asset with an id from these results for financial, warranty, device, and custom-field detail. This covers asset records, not live device state — use search_devices for that, and search_software_assets for software rather than hardware.

search_device_groups

ChatGPT
Search LogMeIn Resolve device groups. Use this when the user asks which device groups exist or needs group names and IDs before filtering devices. Optionally use search_text to find groups by name or related text. Returns group IDs, names, tenant summaries, and pagination metadata. If pagination.has_more is true, call again with offset set to pagination.next_offset.

search_devices

ChatGPT
Search or list LogMeIn Resolve devices. Use the optional query field for free text across device name, hostname, OS name, labels, and device group name when the user describes a device instead of knowing its ID; omit query and use the structured filters (statuses, platforms, os_names, labels, device_group_ids, tenant_ids, issue_severities, verified) when the user already knows what they want to browse, count, or narrow down; combine both to free-text search within a filtered set. Call get_device with a returned device_id for full detail. If pagination.has_more is true, call again with offset set to pagination.next_offset.

search_end_users

ChatGPT
Search the end users on a LogMeIn Resolve account. Use this to resolve a person the user names into the assigned_user_id that create_asset and update_asset expect. Returns each matching end user id, name, email address, home phone, position, and company, plus pagination metadata including the total number of matches.

search_kb_documents

ChatGPT
Find semantically related published Knowledge Base documents from either arbitrary search text or one published source document. Returns related document IDs, titles, and relevance scores.

search_software_assets

ChatGPT
Search the LogMeIn Resolve software asset inventory. Use this when the user asks which software the organization tracks, who publishes it, how many installations it has, how business-critical it is, or which software has exceeded its licenses (filter on notification_types). Returns a summary per software record (id, name, publisher, category, licensing model, priority, installation count, source, labels, license notifications) plus pagination metadata including the total number of matches. The authentication_type_sso/scim/other and authentication_type_other_value fields are only included for records whose software_model is SAAS or BOTH; they are omitted entirely for NONE or INSTALLED. Call get_software with an id from these results for purchase, license, contact, and custom-field detail. This covers the curated software asset register, not what is installed on a specific device.

send_remote_support_sms_invite

ChatGPT
Send an SMS invitation for a remote support session to the given phone number. Only applies to sessions started with session_type 'CameraShare' or 'Mobile' or if support_type is 'Mobile' - 'Unattended' sessions cannot use this tool. The caller must have been connected to the session. This call can take longer than usual while it waits for the SMS provider to respond.

start_remote_support_session

ChatGPT
Start a remote support session. Defaults to an 'Attended' session: creates a live session through the LogMeIn Resolve API for the given customer_name and returns a sessionId, PIN code, and agent join link. 'CameraShare' and 'Mobile' also create an API-backed session the same way. Set session_type to 'Unattended' with a device_id to instead get a direct connect link for that device without creating an API-backed session - no sessionId or PIN code is returned here, but the session can still be found via list_remote_support_sessions once the agent starts the session through the link, and that id works with close_remote_support_session and get_remote_support_session_state (get_remote_support_mailto_link and send_remote_support_sms_invite still do not apply to Unattended sessions).

update_asset

ChatGPT
Change one or more existing hardware assets in one transactional bulk request. Put every update in assets with its asset_id. Only fields supplied on an item change; omitted fields are left exactly as they are, so send only what the user asked to change. label_ids and custom_fields each replace the item's whole set rather than adding to it. assigned_user_id, location_id, location_details_id, manufacturer_id, and common_model_id can each be set to null to clear that reference (for example, assigned_user_id: null unassigns the asset). If an asset is on a managed device, manufacturer_id, serial_number, common_model_id, os_name, os_version, os_edition, physical_memory, processor, ip_addresses, mac_addresses, and hostname are controlled by the managing agent and cannot be changed while managed. Setting is_loaned to true or supplying return_date requires the asset to have assigned_user_id, either already on the asset or set on the same item; neither can be supplied on an item that clears assigned_user_id. Which device-info fields apply also depends on the asset's category: Monitors only accept display_size/resolution/ports, Printer only accepts ip_addresses/mac_addresses/hostname/print_technology/print_modes/print_color, Router only accepts ip_addresses/mac_addresses/hostname/ports, and every other category accepts the rest, using the new category_id when the same item moves the asset. Current records are fetched only for items whose managed-device, loan, or unchanged-category validation requires existing state. When an item supplies device fields with a new category_id, list_asset_categories is fetched once and reused across the batch to validate the target category. The complete batch is rejected — reporting every problem with stable assets[index] and asset-id references — rather than sending a write the backend would ignore. Duplicate asset_id entries are also rejected before any read or write. Use get_asset first when you need current values, and search_assets to find asset ids.

update_helpdesk_ticket

ChatGPT
Update a LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident). Use this after list_helpdesk_tickets returns a referenceNum, or when the user provides a ticket number directly. Only set the fields that should change - title, summary, assignee, category, priority, status, due date, tenant, followers, custom fields, and tags to add/remove. Use get_helpdesk_services to look up category/priority/status/tag ids, and list_helpdesk_user to look up user ids. Returns the updated ticket.

update_helpdesk_ticket_comment

ChatGPT
Update an existing comment on a LogMeIn Resolve helpdesk ticket (incident). Use this after list_helpdesk_tickets or get_helpdesk_ticket returns a referenceNum and the comment id (from the ticket comments[].id field). Returns the updated ticket.

update_kb_document

ChatGPT
Update a published text-only Knowledge Base document. Provide at least one editable field. Content is Markdown only; file and binary uploads are not supported. The result may be a document or a draft when approval is required.

update_kb_draft

ChatGPT
Update an unpublished text-only Knowledge Base draft. Provide at least one editable field. Content is Markdown only; file and binary uploads are not supported.

update_kb_folder

ChatGPT
Rename a Knowledge Base folder or move its complete subtree beneath a supplied parent folder. Provide at least one update.

update_software

ChatGPT
Change one or more existing software assets in one transactional bulk request. Put every update in software_assets with its software_id; only supplied fields change. The complete batch is validated before the single write, and any local violation rejects all updates with stable software_assets[index] and software-id references. Current records are fetched only for items whose authentication validation needs existing state. software_label_ids, software_external_contact_ids, and custom_fields replace their complete sets. Use search_software_assets to find ids.
