Overview

Menas brings Cyprus case law and legislation into ChatGPT. Ask in Greek or English, and Menas finds the judgments and laws behind your question, with links to the sources. What you can do: - Search Cyprus case law by legal issue, court and year, including higher courts only. - Find a specific judgment from a case number, citation or party names. If more than one case matches, ChatGPT asks you which one you mean. - Read the stored text of a judgment, in parts, with a note on whether the text is complete. - Find a Cyprus law, regulation, article of the Constitution or rule of procedure, with a link to the text and a note on whether the link was checked against the published source. - Continue in Menas: hand a task over to the Menas app for full research, analysis or drafting. Menas asks for your confirmation before it starts. No Menas account is needed to search and read. To continue a task in the Menas app, you connect your Menas account and approve access. Good to know: - Menas is a research tool, not legal advice, and it does not replace a lawyer's judgment. - Results are sources that match your question, not legal conclusions. Read the judgment and check the current version of a law before you rely on it. - Coverage is Cyprus law only: judgments of Cyprus courts in the Menas collection, and Cyprus legislation. Some judgments may be missing, and the most recent ones take a little time to appear. - Menas receives only what each lookup needs, never your conversation history. Menas is operated by DIGITRUN MEDIA SERVICES LIMITED, Cyprus.

Tools

continue_in_menas

ChatGPT
Hand the current task to the Menas app with its context (the user's request, selected case ids, filters) so the user can continue with full research, analysis of authorities, drafting or document review. Use after giving the user the lightweight results, when they want deeper work. next_action: research_proposal (opens Menas with a research proposal the user can review and confirm; needs original_request) or open_sources (opens the selected judgments). Returns a single-use link for the user to open while signed in; nothing starts until the user confirms in Menas.

find_case

ChatGPT
Identify one specific judgment the user already has in mind, from a docket number, citation, ECLI, party names, court and/or year (e.g. 'Πολιτική Έφεση 123/2014', 'Republic v. Sampson'). Returns status 'resolved' with the case, 'ambiguous' with candidates and the attributes that distinguish them (ask the user to choose; never pick one yourself), or 'not_found'. Do not use to discover cases on a topic (use search_case_law).

find_legislation

ChatGPT
Locate a Cyprus law, regulation, Constitution article or procedural rule and return its official identifier and link (e.g. 'Ν. 125(Ι)/2018', 'Άρθρο 30 Συντάγματος', 'rent control law'). Each link says whether it was verified against the published source. Returns candidates when the request is not an exact identifier. For a topic ('the law about hunting') always pass short Greek terms in topic_terms (e.g. 'θήρα', 'άγρια πτηνά'), whatever language the user writes in; without them a non-Greek topic request gets automatically generated terms, which are weaker. For court procedure rules pass procedural_rules (the rule set the user named, or not_named). Topic results locate laws, they do not decide whether a law applies. Do not use for case law or for legal analysis of a provision (use continue_in_menas).

get_case

ChatGPT
Return details and stored text of one judgment by its canonical id ('case-db:<number>') obtained from search_case_law or find_case. Text is paged: use next_offset to continue. The result states whether the text is known to be complete. Do not guess ids; do not use for legislation.

search_case_law

ChatGPT
Find Cyprus court judgments that discuss a legal issue, optionally filtered by court(s) and year. Use when the user describes a legal topic or question and wants judgments about it (e.g. 'αποφάσεις για καταχρηστική απόλυση', 'cases on adverse possession after 2015'). When the user asks for higher-court, appellate or Supreme Court authority ('ανώτερα δικαστήρια', 'Ανώτατο/Εφετείο'), pass court_level='higher' (Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Constitutional Court); use courts for several specific courts. Pass the user's request as written; you may add up to 4 short Greek legal phrases for the issue in issue_phrases (no case or law numbers). Returns up to 20 cases with canonical ids, court, date, link and a short matching excerpt; matches are word-based and do not establish what a case decided. Also lists the legislation most cited in the returned judgments (cited_legislation): a citation count, not an assessment of which law applies. Do not use for a specific known case (use find_case) or for legislation (use find_legislation). For analysis, weighing of authorities or research on the user's facts, use continue_in_menas.
