My Local Press

by My Local Press

Overview

Reporting starts in a lot of places. A notes app during a school board meeting. An email thread with a source. A voice memo in the car afterward. Getting that material into a publishing tool is usually the part that stalls. My Local Press is a local news platform. Journalists, publications, and residents publish stories, events, classifieds, public notices, coupons, alerts, and other community listings for the town they're in. This connector links a My Local Press account to Claude, so material worked out in a conversation lands in that account as a draft, ready to open and finish in the app. The connector is draft-first, and that is the whole design. It can create a draft, revise a draft, list the account's open drafts, check a draft's status, and start a media upload for a draft. There is no publish tool, and there is no way to reach one. Publishing is an act a person takes inside My Local Press, where the platform's normal editorial gates apply. A local news feed is only worth reading if someone decided each item belonged there, so the decision stays with the person, not the assistant. It acts as the signed-in account holder, through the same API the My Local Press iOS, Android, and web apps use. Ownership, verification status, and publishing rules apply exactly as they do in the app, and the connector only ever reaches that account's own drafts. It can't read anyone else's content, browse the public feed, delete anything, or touch account settings. Anyone with a free My Local Press account can connect it. Sign in once, and drafts start showing up under My Content.
