Overview

Newton lets users connect ChatGPT to their linked Gmail and Outlook accounts so they can list accounts, search mail, read messages and threads, create or edit drafts, send replies, and manage scheduled emails with OAuth-granted permissions.

archive_thread

ChatGPT

Archive a thread (remove it from the Inbox; Outlook and IMAP move it to the Archive folder). Pass undo: true to move it back to the Inbox. threadId comes from search_emails or get_email. On IMAP accounts the response carries the messages' new ids.

create_draft

ChatGPT

Create a draft email (not sent). With replyToMessageId, the draft is created as a reply on the same thread as that message; an omitted subject then defaults to "Re: <original subject>".

delete_draft

Delete a draft by id.

get_email

Get an email message or full thread by id.

get_schedule

Get a scheduled email by id, or list scheduled emails (optionally filtered by account and status).

list_accounts

List the user's linked email accounts.

list_labels

ChatGPT

List the labels (Gmail) or folders (Outlook, IMAP) of a linked account. Use the returned id with move_to_label. Outlook lists top-level folders only.

mark_read

Mark every message in a thread as read, or as unread with read: false. threadId comes from search_emails or get_email.

move_to_label

ChatGPT

Move a thread to a label or folder (id or exact name from list_labels). Gmail: adds the label and removes the thread from the Inbox unless keepInInbox is true (mode "label"). Outlook and IMAP: moves every message to that folder; keepInInbox is ignored (mode "folder"). Trash, Spam, Sent and Drafts are not allowed as targets.

schedule_email

Schedule an email to be sent in the future. Supports an optional readReceipt flag for open tracking (defaults to the user preference when omitted).

search_emails

Search emails with filters (from/to/subject/query/hasAttachment/after/before). Results carry a messageId and threadId for get_email; on IMAP accounts the snippet is empty.

send_email

Send an email from one of the linked accounts. With replyToMessageId, sends as a reply on the same thread (subject optional — defaults to "Re: <original subject>"); pass draftId to clean up a draft after sending it. Supports an optional readReceipt flag for open tracking (defaults to the user preference when omitted).
