Overview

Alchemist is Olbrain's agent builder. Tell Codex what the agent should do, in plain words. Alchemist's own model works out what kind of agent it is, plans it, builds it in your Olbrain organisation, tests it on real inputs and publishes it, asking you before anything goes live. It builds chat agents, automatic jobs (started by a schedule, a webhook, an email or a new file in a watched folder), teams of agents behind one front door, and research agents. It connects website chat, WhatsApp, Shopify storefront chat, your phone number and Microsoft Teams, tools from Olbrain's connector catalog, any REST API or your own MCP server, and the agent's knowledge files. It also shows an agent as a diagram, reviews live agents, puts a live agent on your website or behind a server route in your project, and handles your Olbrain support tickets. Every agent runs on Olbrain and stays visible in Noesis, Olbrain's console, where your team can open, review and change it.

Tools

alchemist

ChatGPT
Talk to Alchemist, Olbrain's agent builder. It designs, builds, tests and publishes AI agents, teams of agents and automatic jobs in the user's active Olbrain organisation. It can also review how a published agent did with real conversations, turn its failures into tests, and prove a fix before it is published. When the user doesn't know which agents they need, it hands them to Cortex, Olbrain's business analyst, which asks about the business, suggests agents and writes a requirements document for each. message is the user's request. build_id continues an earlier build; attach_agent_id starts a build that changes an existing agent. One call runs one builder turn, which can take several minutes. A result can carry a question for the user (extras.question), an approval card waiting on the user (card), or the steps to put a published agent to use (go_live).

alchemist_answer

ChatGPT
Answer an Alchemist approval card with the chosen response. Answering can publish an agent, make it live, merge agents or change their behaviour. response must be one of the card's responses; approve does what the card proposes. merge needs keep, the agent that stays. Per-item items on a fix card go with approve. On a website connect_channel card, approve takes origins, the site addresses the user gave (like https://shop.example). Other inputs a card asks for go in fields, and the user's own words in note. Returns the next builder turn.

alchemist_build

ChatGPT

No build, no credits.

alchemist_connect

ChatGPT
Put a live Olbrain agent on the user's website, or call it from their code: no build, no credits. Without agent_id, lists the organisation's live chat agents and jobs. With agent_id, returns its go-live steps (API key, curl, SDK code, a job's webhook call, and a chat agent's website chat snippet once it is on). origins, the site addresses the user gave (https://shop.example, or http://localhost:3000 to try it first), switches a chat agent's website chat on for them; sites are only ever added.

alchemist_edit_build

ChatGPT
Rename one of your own Alchemist builds (title, a few plain words), archive it (archived true) or bring an archived one back (archived false). Archiving hides the build from your build list and can be undone; no agent is changed. reason (why it is being archived) goes with archived true.

alchemist_show_agent

ChatGPT
Shows one Olbrain agent as a read-only diagram. A chat agent is drawn as how it handles a message: the channels it hears from, its guardrails, what it consults (knowledge, tools, skills) and how a conversation ends (a reply, saved data or a hand-off). An automatic job, a team of agents or a research agent is drawn as its steps, members or sources in order, with their branches. Items added or changed since the live version are marked, and steps or tools that change data outside Olbrain are marked as writes. Returns the same view as text too, and a view_url that opens the diagram in a browser for 15 minutes.
