Overview
OneGoodArea is the intelligence layer for place: a single API serving sourced, dated facts, explained scores, peers and change monitoring for every neighbourhood in England, Wales and Scotland. This connector puts it inside Claude. Every answer is composed server-side from raw engine output and stamped with the methodology version, so Claude reports verified numbers rather than inventing them. Twelve tools span seven product capabilities. Places: resolve_place turns a postcode, place name, official code or place ID into the permanent location it names, and flags whether a postcode is live or retired. Scores: score_postcode and compare_postcodes return a 0 to 100 score for a decision preset: moving, business, investing or research. Scores are built from seven weighted dimensions, each with a confidence rating and explicit engine reasoning. Signals: get_area_signals and get_signals_by_category return every public metric for a location across crime, deprivation, property, schools, amenities, transport and environment. Each signal carries its value, percentile, confidence, reasoning, source and observation period. Intelligence: find_areas answers plain-English questions with a fully reproducible query plan, while find_peers finds the most statistically similar neighbourhoods. Monitor: watch_portfolio and get_portfolio_changes track a curated list of places and report material changes with their root causes. Brief: area_brief generates a lender, insurer, retailer or investor brief directly from engine output.
