Overview

OpenTrack gives logistics professionals complete container visibility across ocean, terminal, rail, and road, with integrations to all major ocean carriers, terminals, and rail carriers covering 99.9% of global freight. The OpenTrack connector brings that data into Claude, so you can ask about your shipments in plain language instead of checking manually. With the connector you can: - Look up any container or master bill of lading to see status, ETAs, last free days, holds, demurrage, and full event history - Search and filter containers by port, carrier, terminal, or ETA window, such as "containers arriving at Los Angeles in the next 7 days" - View the route and journey legs for a container - Start tracking a new container, master bill of lading, or booking reference - Create, update, and remove webhooks, and review delivered webhook events You sign in with your OpenTrack account in the browser, with no API key to manage. The connector runs with your account's permissions, so Claude sees exactly the shipments you see in the OpenTrack dashboard. Actions like starting tracking or editing webhooks require a role that allows them in OpenTrack. Freight forwarders, freight brokers, importers, exporters, drayage carriers, and customs brokers use OpenTrack to make informed decisions, save time, improve results, and reduce costs.

Tools

getContainer

ChatGPT
Look up a specific container by ID or number. Returns status, journey progress, ETAs, LFDs, holds, demurrage, custom fields, and event history. Returns status "not_found" when the container is not visible to the session. The trackingPage field is a public status-page URL titled "View tracking page"; it does not initiate tracking.

getContainerRoute

ChatGPT
Fetch the map route / itinerary for a container. Returns the journey legs, locations, ETAs, vessels, and current status. By default returns a compact summary (~2–5 KB) without GeoJSON coordinates. Pass detail: "full" to get raw route geometry including LineString coordinates (50–200 KB). Takes the container number (e.g. CMAU9768740).

getContainers

ChatGPT
Search and list containers with structured Explore-shaped filters: filtering by carrier, port, status, or dates, and counting results. Accepts searchTerm for direct container ID, master bill, or vessel lookup. getFilterSchema lists filter fields, catalog constraints, enum values, and date tokens, and listFilterOptions resolves port, carrier, and terminal values. Returns status "resolution_failed" with candidate values, and no container data, when an entity filter value matches more than one option or none.

getFilterSchema

ChatGPT
Returns filter field definitions plus catalog metadata for getContainers: types, enum and date tokens, mutually exclusive field groups, deadline+status pairings, location aliases, and incident topic hints. Entity values resolve via listFilterOptions when requiresLookup is true.

getMbl

ChatGPT
Get a specific Master Bill of Lading (MBL) and the containers on it. Returns status "not_found" when the MBL is not visible to the session.

getMblList

ChatGPT
Search Master Bills of Lading (MBLs) by number or UUID. Returns a page of matching MBLs with the full matching count; getMbl returns a single MBL with the containers on it.

listFilterOptions

ChatGPT
Resolves the getContainers entity filter values (ports, carriers, terminals) for a single filter field, narrowed by a required search string. Returns matched options with value, label, and similarity score; the full option list is not returned.

listWebhookEvents

ChatGPT
Play back webhook event messages previously sent to the account. Filter by timestamp (Unix seconds), containerId, and/or event types. Each result includes event type, sentAt, and the delivery payload (data and changes). Retention is about 90 days. At most 25 results per page.

listWebhooks

ChatGPT
List webhooks registered for the account. Set includeStats to true to include delivery health metrics on each webhook.

registerWebhook

ChatGPT
Register a webhook to receive container lifecycle updates at a URL you control. Provide name and url; secret, events, and callbackHeaders are optional. If events are omitted, the webhook subscribes to the default event set (status, itinerary, location, holds, and demurrage). Webhook URLs must be unique in the account; registering a duplicate URL returns a conflict.

trackContainer

ChatGPT
Start tracking a container by its container number and master bill. Creates the container in the system and begins monitoring its journey. Requires a valid container ID and master bill number. scacCode is optional: the server infers it from the MBL, and returns status "validation_error" with code INVALID_SCAC_CODE when inference fails.

trackMasterBill

ChatGPT
Start tracking a master bill of lading. Creates the MBL in the system and begins monitoring all containers on it. Some carriers support MBL-only tracking and some require a container ID, which trackContainer covers. Requires a master bill number. scacCode is optional: the server infers it from the MBL, and returns status "validation_error" with code INVALID_SCAC_CODE when inference fails.

unregisterWebhook

ChatGPT
Unregister a webhook by id. This cannot be undone.

updateWebhook

ChatGPT
Update an existing webhook by id. Only provided fields change. If events is included, it replaces the previous subscription list and must be non-empty; omit events to leave the current list unchanged. Pass an empty secret string to clear the signing secret.
