answer_application
ChatGPTSave the user's answers to an application's open questions (from get_application_questions) and send the application to the employer. Only with answers the user gave in this conversation.
apply_to_jobs
ChatGPTHave Otto apply to these postings for the user: it fills each employer's application form with their saved CV and answers and submits it. Only for jobs the user explicitly chose in this conversation — never pick for them. Returns at once; each application then takes minutes to hours, and Otto emails the user as each is sent.
apply_with_url
ChatGPTHave Otto apply to a job posting the user gave as a link, on any careers site: Otto reads the posting, fills the employer's application form with their saved CV and answers, and submits it. Only for a link the user pasted in this conversation and asked to apply to. Returns at once; the application then takes minutes to hours, and Otto emails the user when it is sent.
find_matches
ChatGPTThe live postings that fit the user's saved CV best, best first. Better than search_jobs once a CV is saved. Answers in a second or two; explain each fit to the user from their CV and the job.
get_account_status
ChatGPTWhether the user can apply right now: applications left on their plan, whether a CV is on file, and which facts employers' forms often ask for (phone, right to work) are still missing. Call before applying if unsure.
get_application_questions
ChatGPTThe questions an employer's form asked that Otto could not answer for the user, for an application that needs them. Ask the user these in the chat, then send their answers with answer_application.
get_application_status
ChatGPTThe current status of specific applications, by id.
get_onboarding
ChatGPTThe next thing Otto needs from the user before it can match or apply for them. These are the same questions ottoroles.com asks when someone signs up there — a CV, where they can work without a visa, their name, their date of birth, and the city and country they live in — and the answers go onto real applications sent to real employers. Call this when the user wants Otto to match or apply for them and their account is not set up yet; searching never needs it. Put the question it returns to the user, save what they answer with save_onboarding_step, then call this again for the next one. Never answer a question for the user and never carry an answer over from another conversation.
get_profile
ChatGPTThe Otto account connected to this conversation.
list_my_applications
ChatGPTThe user's most recent applications, newest first, and where each one stands: every application on the account, whether made here, in another chat or on ottoroles.com. Pass limit for "my last 3" (default 10). Set this_chat_only only when the user asks about the applications made in this conversation. Use it to check on applications; never call apply_to_jobs again to see how one is going.
save_onboarding_step
ChatGPTSave the user's answer to one of get_onboarding's questions, and get the next one. Only ever the user's own words from this conversation: what is saved here is typed into employers' forms, so never invent an answer, never read one off their CV yourself, and never save one they have not said out loud.
save_profile
ChatGPTSave the user's CV (an attached file, or pasted text) and the details employers' forms ask for. A new CV becomes the one Otto applies with; earlier CVs stay in the user's library on Otto. Only save what the user gave you in this conversation.
search_jobs
ChatGPTSearch live job postings. Use for any request to find or browse jobs. Returns up to 12 postings with their ids, titles and companies, which apply_to_jobs takes. Does not need an Otto account.
