Overview

PersonalizedComics turns the people in your photos into the stars of a short comic. Attach a photo of each person (up to four), say what should happen and what it is for, and the plugin writes a complete two-page story and draws it: first the cast, so you can check that everyone looks like themselves and redraw anyone who does not, then a cover, the two story pages and a back cover. The finished comic opens in a reader inside the conversation, and your short comics stay in your PersonalizedComics account so you can come back to them. It is made for birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's and Father's Day, retirements, a present for a friend, or just for fun. Pick a style such as graphic novel, manga, watercolor, noir or classic American comics, or let the plugin choose. When you want a longer comic as a printed book, the plugin opens the PersonalizedComics website with your characters already saved, and the printed comic book is made and ordered there. Good to know: you sign in with a PersonalizedComics account (Google, or email and password). A short comic takes about three minutes to draw. Each person can make five short comics a day. The pages of a finished comic are not redrawn; start a new comic to tell a different story. Only share photos of people who are happy to be in a comic. Comics are made for general audiences.

Tools

approve_cast

ChatGPT
The customer is happy with how the characters look: start drawing the cover and the two pages (about two minutes). Call this when they say the cast looks right; the card has a button for the same thing. After this the cast of this comic can no longer be redrawn.

create_comic

ChatGPT
Make a short personalized comic starring real people, drawn from their photos: a cover, a complete two-page story and a back cover. Use this when the customer wants a comic of themselves, their partner, family or friends — for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, retirement, Father's Day, or just for fun. A short comic costs the customer nothing, and each customer can make 5 a day. How it works: you pass the people (names + their attached photos), the story idea, the occasion and a style. This call starts the work and answers at once; nothing is drawn inside it. The story is written and the cast is drawn first (about a minute); the customer then checks the character sheets and approves them (approve_cast). After approval the cover and the two pages are drawn (about two minutes) and the comic is finished. ChatGPT shows a PersonalizedComics card that follows the progress by itself; in an app that shows no card, follow it with get_comic (wait: true). Before calling: you need at least one person, and each person needs either an attached photo (photo_1..photo_4, matched to people[].photo) or a short visual description. If the customer has not attached a photo yet, ask for one — a comic drawn from a photo looks like them; one from a description does not. Ask for the story idea if they gave none (a sentence or two is plenty; it is a two-page story, so one scene with a punchline or a warm ending works best). Never invent a story the customer did not ask for. Photos: each photo_N is the attached file as the app hands it over. If this app cannot attach a file to a tool call and all you have is where the photo is on the customer's computer, call create_comic anyway with that location in photo_N.download_url: nothing is drawn or counted, and the answer gives a temporary address to upload the file to. Style: default to graphic-novel when photos are supplied (it keeps the real face best). Use lifestyle for "me, but as a comic" realism. Only pick manga, cyberpunk, fantasy, noir, retro-pop, watercolor or american-classic when the customer asks for that look.

get_comic

ChatGPT
Show one of the customer's short comics: its progress while it is being drawn, the cast to approve, or the finished comic. Use it when the customer asks to see a comic again or how it is going. Where the PersonalizedComics card is displayed it refreshes itself, so do not poll. In an app that shows no card, pass wait: true: the call then waits up to 45 seconds for the next step (the cast to approve, or the finished comic) and answers as soon as it is there.

list_my_comics

ChatGPT
List the short comics the customer has made here, newest first. Use when they ask what they have made, or want to open an earlier one.

my_profile

ChatGPT
Return the PersonalizedComics account this connection is signed in to. The id is opaque and stable: it stays the same across reconnects and token refreshes, and never changes when the name or email does.

redraw_character

ChatGPT
Redraw one character's sheet from their photo, before the comic is drawn; it takes 20 to 40 seconds. Pass what should change in the customer's words ("give Dan his glasses", "her hair is grey now", "he is heavier than that"). With no change, the character is drawn again fresh from the photo — use that when the face is simply not them. Only works for characters made from a photo, and each can be redrawn 2 times. The earlier version is kept and can be put back with restore_character.

restore_character

ChatGPT
Put back an earlier drawing of a character, chosen from that character's earlier versions (cast[].history). It does not count as a redraw. Only before the cast is approved.
