Overview

Pile Capacity estimates the axial bearing and uplift capacity of cast-in-situ bored piles and CFA piles from a soil profile and a pile schedule, and solves the inverse problem: the length each pile needs to carry a stated compression and tension load. Describe the ground and the piles in plain language, such as layer thicknesses and types, undrained shear strength or friction angle, rock UCS, groundwater level, pile diameters, target loads and factors of safety. The connector resolves that into a complete analysis input and shows you the resolved input, every assumption it had to make for a value you did not give, and the provenance of each field (your value, an engineering convention, or a default), so you confirm or correct the design before anything is calculated. Confirmed designs return one summary per pile: required length, toe level, allowable and ultimate compression and uplift capacity, and the factors used. You can then render the full calculation report as a PDF with charts, formulas and per-layer tables, or as an Excel workbook with live formulas, and save the design into a project in your Pile Capacity account, where it opens in the web app like any other design. SI and US customary units are both supported. The connector picks the system from the units you write and warns you when your words and your numbers disagree. Requires a hetGE account with an active Pile Capacity licence. Sign-in is OAuth against id.hetge.com; the connector never sees your password and reads only the design inputs your assistant sends, plus at most one sentence of your wording when it contains unit words, used only to check the units.

Tools

list_projects

ChatGPT
List the user's Pile Capacity projects (id, name, number of designs, last update, location) so a design can be saved into one with save_design. Returns at most 50, newest first.

preview_design

ChatGPT
Validate and resolve a pile bearing-capacity / pile-length analysis input, in SI or US customary units (set units). Use this when a design has been described and the user has not yet confirmed it. Returns the fully resolved input, a list of assumptions made for fields not supplied, and per-field provenance (user / convention / default), or a list of issues when the input is invalid or incomplete. Intended for use before run_analysis, so that the user can confirm the resolved input and the assumptions.

render_report

ChatGPT
Render the full calculation report for a design as a PDF (charts, formulas, per-layer tables) or an Excel workbook (live formulas). Use this when the user asks for a report. There are two modes: designId renders a design already saved with save_design, using its stored results and its saved project and design names, which is the accurate mode for any report after a save; input renders the same input passed to run_analysis, in whichever units its units field named. A request carrying both, or neither, is rejected. Returns a download link valid for one hour. The link is signed; a modified link is rejected. Intended for use after run_analysis.

run_analysis

ChatGPT
Run the pile bearing-capacity / pile-length analysis for the given input (SI or US customary, per its units field; same schema as preview_design). Use this when the user asks for the capacities or the required pile length. Intended for use after preview_design, once the user has confirmed the preview. Returns one summary per pile with lengths, toe level, allowable and ultimate compression and uplift capacities, and factor settings. A PDF or Excel report can be produced afterward with render_report, and the design can be saved with save_design.

save_design

ChatGPT
Save a confirmed design into the user's Pile Capacity account so it appears in the web app. Runs the analysis again and stores the results under the saved names. Names are optional: the saved row keeps the titles the input already carries (its design and project fields), so pass designName or newProjectName only to override them. With no title anywhere the design is named "Design N" inside its project, and with neither projectId (from list_projects) nor newProjectName a new project named "Project N" is created. A request carrying both projectId and newProjectName is rejected. location is optional too: a new project defaults to the ITU Civil Engineering Faculty (Istanbul) when no site is named; an existing project's location is only changed when location is given. Returns the design id and a link to open it; use that id as render_report's designId for any later report. Use this when the user asks to save the design.
