PlanningLedger
By Alpha Maven Ltd
Overview
PlanningLedger is an index of the UK planning record. It lets Claude look up planning applications, see what councils published with them, search officer reports and decision notices, count decisions, find appeal decisions and check Local Plan policies, for councils across the UK. Ask in your own words: "Find Westminster officer reports that discuss replacing shopfronts in conservation areas." "How many planning applications did Leeds decide in 2024, and how many were refused?" "Find dismissed appeals in Greenwich for converting houses into flats in a conservation area." "What does Camden's Local Plan say about basements?" Every answer links to the council's own copy of each document, so you can check it. Quotes from application documents are short (at most 40 words) and say who wrote them: the officer, the council, the applicant or the inspector. Local Plan policies come in full. Each search says what it covered. Search across documents opens council by council and year by year as each council's documents are indexed; a year that is not open yet is reported as not yet searchable, not as no results, and the other tools still answer there. It is for planning consultants, architects, developers, surveyors, solicitors, councillors and anyone preparing or commenting on an application. Every tool only reads. You sign in with your email address and a six-digit code we email you; there is no password. A free daily allowance covers 20 document searches and 100 quotes, and other lookups within 300 calls a day. PlanningLedger is run by Alpha Maven Ltd, in the UK.
