add_accommodation
ChatGPTAdd an accommodation (hotel, Airbnb, etc.) to a trip with check-in/check-out dates. Accommodations are separate entities with dedicated date fields — they CANNOT be assigned to days as activities (use update_accommodation to change dates). Use this instead of add_place for hotels. IMPORTANT: always include photoUrl, rating, lat, lng, and placeId when available — the photo and rating are shown in the map pin popup and the detail sidebar. When adding from search_accommodations results, include all pricing fields.
add_expense
ChatGPTAdd an expense to a trip. Prefer using tagId (from get_place_tags) to categorize expenses; the category field is a fallback. Optionally link to a specific place, accommodation, or flight (at most one entity link allowed). Use get_expenses to see current budget summary.
add_flight
ChatGPTAdd a flight to a trip with departure and arrival details. Flights are trip-level entities — they appear in the day timeline on their departure date. Do NOT move flights between days; update departure/arrival times via update_flight instead. Times must be ISO 8601 datetimes (e.g., "2026-06-10T10:00:00Z"). Departure must be before arrival.
add_hotel_break
ChatGPTAdd a hotel break to a day. Hotel breaks represent overnight stays or mid-day hotel returns that appear as waypoints in the day timeline between places. Use breakType 'check_in' for the day you arrive at the hotel, 'check_out' for departure day, and 'hotel_break' for mid-day returns. Position determines where it appears in the day timeline relative to places.
add_packing_category
ChatGPTAdd a new packing category to a trip (e.g. "Clothing", "Electronics"). Each category has a name and optional color (hex).
add_packing_item
ChatGPTAdd an item to a packing category. Items have a name, optional quantity (default 1), and start unpacked.
add_place
ChatGPTAdd a place to a trip. REQUIRED: call search_places first and pass the placeId from the result — this ensures correct enrichment (photo, opening_hours, description, links). The response includes enriched data. When building itineraries, use opening_hours to schedule places optimally — e.g. places that close early should be visited first.
assign_place
ChatGPTAssign or move a place to a specific day. Only use this for places (place_to_visit, restaurant). Do NOT pass accommodation IDs — accommodations cannot be assigned to days (returns ACCOMMODATION_NOT_ASSIGNABLE_TO_DAY error). To change accommodation dates, use update_accommodation.

search_places
ChatGPTSearch places by text query. Returns results with placeId, name, address, coordinates, rating, photoUrl, and primaryType. Uses Geoapify autocomplete. Use this before add_place to get accurate placeId and coordinates. After add_place, the place is automatically enriched with opening_hours, description, Wikipedia link, and official website from Geoapify + Wikidata.
