Overview
ClarityTrack is the financial data layer for your AI assistant. Connect your ClarityTrack account and ChatGPT can read your live financial picture: account balances, recent transactions, server-computed spending by category, budget position, goals with progress, and the insights Clarity has flagged (price increases, duplicate charges, income anomalies). Everything is strictly read-only: ChatGPT can see what you can see, and can never move money or change settings. Data access is granted per-user via OAuth and can be revoked at any time from ClarityTrack settings.

actions.commit
ChatGPTApplies a change previously proposed by one of the *.preview tools. Call ONLY after the user has explicitly confirmed the previewed change. Takes the previewToken returned by the preview. A committed token is rejected on reuse, tokens expire after 10 minutes, and only the five v1 write actions can be committed.
budgets.create.preview
ChatGPTPreview a monthly spending budget for one category. If that category already has a budget, the preview is an update of its cap. It does not move money. Requires the write scope on this connection. Nothing is saved until actions.commit is called with the returned previewToken after the user confirms.

ChatGPTReturns your monthly budget categories and spending caps.
business.coverage
ChatGPTReturns business cash on hand, what is committed over the next 30 days, what is left, and owner's pay for the last 90 days when that section is present, for each business context that has a connected bank. Same figures as the in-app coverage card. A draw is pay, not income or salary. A personal context is not included. An empty list means no business account is tagged, or a read failed, not that cash is zero. Read only. Nothing moves money.
changes.recent
ChatGPTReturns the daily snapshot of what changed across your connected accounts since the previous snapshot, including the connected net worth change. Same figures as the home what-changed card. Read only. Nothing moves money.
dashboard.monthly
ChatGPTThe one-call monthly dashboard: calculation-complete summary cards (net worth, month-to-date spend, budget status, goals), spending by category, budget variance, recent Clarity insights, coverage and freshness notes, plus a render_spec field carrying ClarityTrack's own layout and styling metadata for the dashboard. Prefer this over combining other tools for any 'show me my month' or dashboard request. Its figures are final, server-computed values.
debts.list
ChatGPTReturns your tracked debts (manual entries plus Plaid-linked credit cards and loans), ordered highest-APR first, with per-debt balance, APR, and minimum payment, plus totals. Use this when the user asks what they owe, their debt balances or interest rates, or which debt to tackle first. Do not use for general debt education, debt settlement, credit repair, credit-score questions, or lending/refinance eligibility. May display the user's own recorded relief-program data (program_debts), factually and without recommendation. Read-only; ClarityTrack cannot move money.
debts.payoff.compare
ChatGPTCompares the avalanche (highest-APR first) and snowball (smallest-balance first) payoff strategies using the user's actual debts: months to payoff, total interest paid, interest savings, and a recommended strategy with rationale. Use this when the user asks how to pay off debt faster, which strategy saves more, or avalanche vs snowball on their real numbers. Numbers are computed server-side, are exact, and reconcile with the ClarityTrack app. Do not use for debt settlement, credit repair, credit-score, or lending eligibility; the user's own recorded relief-program data may be displayed factually and without recommendation. Educational projection only; no payment is executed.
debts.strategy.set.preview
ChatGPTPreview switching the payoff strategy between avalanche, which pays the highest interest first, and snowball, which pays the smallest balance first. This changes the saved strategy only. It does not move money, and it does not create a dated payoff plan. Requires the write scope on this connection. Nothing is saved until actions.commit is called with the returned previewToken after the user confirms.
goals.update.preview
ChatGPTPreview a change to an existing goal's title, target date, or target amount. The goalId is the goalId on a row from plan.scoreboard. It does not move money. insights.list
ChatGPTReturns your recent Clarity AI financial insights, newest first. Accepts optional limit (max 20, default 5). Use for trend and 'what has Clarity been flagging' questions, not just the single latest.
plan.scoreboard
ChatGPTReturns your goal scoreboard: each payoff or savings goal, whether it is ahead, on track, or behind, and how fresh the balances are. Same figures as the home scoreboard. Read only. Nothing moves money.
spending.by_category
ChatGPTReturns deterministic, server-computed spending totals grouped by category for a date window (defaults to month-to-date). Totals are exact and reconcile with summary.financial's mtd_spend. Use this for 'where is my money going' and category-breakdown questions instead of summing transactions yourself. Returns category labels paired with exact numeric totals, already sorted and pre-aggregated as a chart-ready series.
spending.duplicates
ChatGPTReturns open charges that look like the same charge on two accounts. Same rows as the home duplicate notice. Marking a charge intentional happens in ClarityTrack. Read only. Nothing moves money.
spending.pace
ChatGPTReturns this month's spending pace against your plan and against last month, with the cumulative points the pace card draws. Optional month is YYYY-MM. Same figures as the home spending pace card. Read only. Nothing moves money.
subscription.status
ChatGPTReturns your ClarityTrack subscription tier and status.
subscriptions.follow_through
ChatGPTReturns recurring subscriptions with your cancellation marks, plus each cancellation request and its stored verdict. confirmed_stopped means the next bill date passed with no charge. charge_detected means a charge posted after the request. committed means it is still waiting, and a missing charge before that date is not a stop. chargedAfterCancellation on a cancelled stream means a charge posted after you marked it cancelled. This is not your ClarityTrack plan tier. That is subscription.status. Read only. Nothing moves money.
summary.financial
ChatGPTReturns a synthesized financial snapshot: net worth, month-to-date spend vs budget, and active goals. Use this for 'how am I doing?' questions. Figures come back pre-aggregated as chart-ready series, so plotting them needs no client-side math.
transactions.annotate.preview
ChatGPTPreview a text note and optional tags on one bank transaction. Use this when the user wants to label or add context to a charge, such as marking it a gift or disputed. A note does not move money, does not change a total, and cannot move a transaction between personal and business. It replaces any existing note on that transaction. Requires the write scope on this connection. Nothing is saved until actions.commit is called with the returned previewToken after the user confirms.

ChatGPTReturns your recent transactions. Accepts optional limit (max 100, default 50), offset, and since (ISO date YYYY-MM-DD). For spending-by-category totals use spending.by_category instead of summing these rows.
transactions.log.preview
ChatGPTPreview a new income, expense, or payment toward a debt. A payment needs the debt name so it can be linked to that debt. This records the transaction inside ClarityTrack.
