Overview

RatedWithAI checks public web pages for accessibility issues against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA. Ask Claude to check a site and the connector loads the live page in a real browser, runs the open-source axe-core engine on it and on up to two more pages from the same site, and returns a 0-100 score, a letter grade, the failing rules, how many elements each rule affects and example markup for each failure. A scan takes about 15-40 seconds. Tools: - scan_accessibility(url): scans a public page plus up to two more same-site pages and reports the failing WCAG rules. - explain_accessibility_issue(rule_id): explains what an axe-core rule such as color-contrast, image-alt, label or link-name means, who it affects and how to fix it, with a code example. Both tools are read-only: the connector never changes your site. No account or API key is needed. Pages behind a login, localhost and private-network addresses are refused. Automated testing catches only part of WCAG; checks that need human judgment are reported as needing manual review, so a good score is not proof of conformance.

Tools

explain_accessibility_issue

Claude
Use this when the user asks what an axe-core accessibility rule means or how to fix it — such as color-contrast, image-alt, label or link-name. Returns plain-English steps and a code example. Do not use it when the user wants a site checked; it explains a rule and does not scan pages.

scan_accessibility

Claude
Use this when the user wants a public website or web page checked for accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, ADA, EAA, Section 508): it loads the live page in a real browser, runs axe-core on it and up to two more same-site pages, and returns a 0-100 score, a letter grade and the failing rules with example elements. Takes 15-40 seconds. Do not use it for pages that need a login, for localhost or private-network addresses, or for pasted HTML.
