Overview

Scovell by Rotunda screens people and businesses for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs) and optional adverse media. Screen individual names or batches, review potential matches with source information, retrieve previous results, and record review decisions with a rationale. Potential matches require human review and do not constitute final compliance decisions. A Scovell account with connector access and available screening allowance is required.

Tools

get_screening

ChatGPT
Fetch a stored screening result (with full candidate matches, the lists and versions checked, and the engine version) by its reference.

list_screenings

ChatGPT
List the screenings previously run with this API key, newest first, with their references, decisions and how many candidates each had. Use it to find a reference you no longer have, or to review recent work. Paginated: pass the cursor from a previous call to continue.

record_disposition

ChatGPT
Record your judgement on a specific candidate match after verifying it (true match or false positive), with a rationale. This is logged as an anonymised training record. It does NOT make a compliance decision on the user's behalf. Clear rule by subject type — INDIVIDUAL: a sanctions candidate is a false positive only on a date-of-birth or nationality mismatch. ENTITY: only on a country-of-incorporation or registration-number mismatch. A name coincidence alone is never grounds. Name the identifier that ruled the party in or out in your rationale. If you cannot decide, record "undecided" with a rationale saying what is missing: that is the hand-off to the human reviewer, who sees your note on the screening in their portal case queue.

screen_batch

ChatGPT
Screen many names at once (up to 100). Returns candidate matches per item to verify at source — not decisions.

screen_name

ChatGPT
Screen a single name against sanctions and PEP lists (adverse media optional). Returns CANDIDATE matches to verify at source — not a decision. Set entityType first; the identifiers to ask the user for depend on it. INDIVIDUAL: ask for date of birth, nationality and country of residence — a sanctions candidate can only be discounted on a DOB or nationality mismatch. ENTITY (company): ask for country of incorporation, registration number (Companies House / LEI), registered address and former or trading names — a sanctions candidate can only be discounted on a country-of-incorporation or registration-number mismatch. Without these a match is name-only and cannot be cleared. The result names every list checked with its version and the engine version, so you can relay exactly what was screened.
