Overview

Save links and notes to your Signoapp library, find saved reading, retrieve content for summaries with citations, and organize tags and workspaces from ChatGPT. Connect your own Signoapp account and control reading and editing access. Deleted items go to the recoverable trash in Signoapp.

Tools

addCanvasText

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to create a real loose text block, with optional fontSize, textAlign, color and exact placement. For a heading ABOVE a folder, set atRoot:true and use canvas coordinates derived from getCanvasLayout; otherwise null folderId inherits the current paste folder. placement is top-left x/y and width/height in the destination coordinate space. Make the box wide/tall enough for the chosen font size. For existing headings use updateCanvasItems instead of making duplicates; for a saved note use createNote.

alignCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to align two or more verified items sharing one parent, using their combined bounds. left/center/right align horizontally; top/middle/bottom vertically. Preserves sizes and membership. Pass revisions from getCanvasLayout. Use updateCanvasItems for a specific coordinate or items in different folders.

app-session

ChatGPT
Issue a short-lived private session for the Signoapp interface, files and streaming. Does not expand the connected account's permissions.

arrangeCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to arrange canvas items using the same layouts as the UI: balanced (grid), compact, horizontal or vertical. Default selection uses the current UI selection; items requires exact verified node IDs (frame:ID, text:ID, bookmark ID); workspace arranges the entire canvas only when explicitly requested. Up to 100 items, atomically. Preserves content, sizes and folder membership; folders may grow and selected folders carry their children. Never broaden an empty selection to the workspace. If only a folder's contents should be arranged, list/read its children and pass their IDs with scope items.

calculate

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to calculate using a bounded list of numbers, without executing code. Subtract/divide use the first number followed by the remaining numbers.

cancelMoodboard

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to stop a background moodboard search. Already saved references remain editable on the canvas.

connectCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to add a persistent visible connection between two verified canvas nodes in the same workspace. Accept raw or prefixed IDs. Reuses an existing connection. Use only when the user requests a diagram, flow or connections; ordinary organization does not need extra edges.

create-bookmark

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to save a URL or text note in a workspace. Link previews and note processing use Signoapp's normal pipeline.

create-workspace

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to create a named workspace.

createFolder

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to create an empty named folder. Optional placement gives exact root x/y and width/height; omit for automatic placement. Folders are flat containers. Existing nearby elements are never captured. Creation finds free space near the preferred placement with a 24px gap; re-read actual geometry before positioning further elements. Set equal sizes to prepare roomy monthly columns. Color is #RRGGBB, opacity 0.05–0.4.

createMoodboard

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to create a visual moodboard folder and a durable background search. Supply a concise brief, style/exclusions and search terms in Spanish and English. Use verified saved image IDs for visual seeds. Set visual for palette/texture/composition, strictVisual for mandatory visual exclusions. Returns immediately; the job survives closing this chat. Default 24 references, max 60. Do not create a separate folder first.

createNote

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to create a saved Markdown note when asked. Use retrieved sources or your knowledge, clearly distinguish them, and include actual source titles. A draft in chat is not a saved note; this tool saves it. Returns the created item. A note can contain at most 20000 characters in total. You can save long drafts in sections: save the first section, read the created note, then append with editCanvasText while keeping the combined content within that limit. If the requested content cannot fit, explain the limit and offer separate notes. Do not repeat the full note in chat. Report exactly what was saved and what remains unfinished.

delete-bookmark

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to move a bookmark to trash. It can be restored in Signoapp during the 30-day retention period.

discoverCanvasTools

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to list the names and descriptions of Signoapp canvas tools available under the connected account's current read or write access. Use this to answer questions about supported canvas actions. Returns a capability catalog without running the listed tools or changing permissions.

display-library

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to see images, PDFs, files, notes or a visual gallery of saved articles. First search for real IDs, then pass up to 12 IDs. Returns compact cards grouped by workspace and folder, image preview blocks for clients such as Codex, and original and Signoapp links. Private thumbnails are included when available. Does not search or modify items.

distributeCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to space two or more verified items in their current spatial order on one axis, with equal edge-to-edge gaps. All items must share one parent. Omit gap to preserve outer bounds; supply a nonnegative gap to grow from the first item's position. Pass revisions from getCanvasLayout. Use updateCanvasItems to specify a different order.

editCanvasText

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to append to or replace a note or loose canvas text. On articles and files, edits only the user's annotations, preserving extracted source content. Read first; use append unless replacement was requested. Every edit returns a new updatedAt for subsequent writes, invalidating older reads. Do not edit and rename the same item in one parallel step. Never replace truncated content by reconstructing its visible excerpt.

extendMoodboard

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to continue a verified moodboard with additional references, excluding previously seen items. Read its current revision first. Maximum 60 total references.

fetch

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read, cite or summarize a Signoapp item found with search. Returns saved text, notes and tags from the connected private account; content may be truncated for long documents.

get-bookmark

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read a bookmark, its note, extracted content and tags.

getCanvasLayout

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read exact geometry, folder membership, style, locks and layout revisions for up to 100 verified node IDs. Folders include minimumWidth/minimumHeight needed to fit their visible children, childCount and hasLockedChildren. Use those minima when choosing equal sizes; never guess smaller dimensions. Accepts raw folder/text IDs or frame:ID/text:ID prefixes. Omit ids to inspect the live selection. Use listCanvas/searchCanvas to discover targets first. x/y are relative to the parent folder, or canvas coordinates at root; absoluteX/Y are canvas coordinates. This is layout data, not image pixels.

getMoodboard

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to omit boardId to discover moodboards in the current workspace. With a verified boardId, read the current brief, durable progress and up to eight saved references in items, each with an exact local citation. Present these references inline in your chat answer. referenceCursor continues saved references; cursor continues candidate evidence. Set includeCandidates only to inspect candidate evidence, which can include rejected historical results. title, count, revision and status are authoritative. Do not infer the board identity from candidate titles. Never poll repeatedly in the same turn.

list-tags

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to list this account's tags, with cursor pagination.

list-workspaces

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to list active workspaces with cursor pagination. The default workspace is library:active.

listCanvas

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to list items in a verified workspace, 20 at a time. Choose bookmark, text or folder. Optional search matches human folder/text names despite accents, spaces or underscores. Folder results include visible itemCount and itemCountComplete; a false flag means a lower bound, never an exact count. For the folder with most elements, follow ALL matching pages, compare complete counts, and use getCanvasLayout on unresolved candidates if needed. Do not infer popularity from title, size or listing order. Pass the returned cursor with identical filters. Results are partial until cursor is null.

listWorkspaces

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to resolve a workspace by its human name or list this profile's workspaces, 20 per page. search matches names regardless of case, accents, spaces or underscores (social inspiration matches SOCIAL_INSPIRATION). An empty page with a cursor is not a negative result: continue with the same search. Includes Library. Returns actual workspace names/keys/citations, never folders or other profiles.

moveCanvasItem

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to move an existing saved note, link, article, file, image or loose text to a verified folder or canvas root. workspaceKey identifies the SOURCE workspace returned with the item. To move across workspaces, pass destinationWorkspaceKey copied from listWorkspaces and a folderId belonging to that destination (null means its root). Preserves the original ID/content; does not create a copy or consume another creation. Omit destinationWorkspaceKey for a move within the source workspace. Never moves items between profiles. An explicit user request to move is sufficient; do not ask to save a copy when a move is supported.

open-app

ChatGPT
Open the full Signoapp application in ChatGPT to browse and edit workspaces, canvas, folders, notes and files. Optionally open a known workspace. Changes follow the connected account's permissions.

organizeCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to finish a generated collection of 2–100 items by arranging ONLY its verified item IDs, including notes and sources, with readable preview sizes and even gaps. Call after creating or adding a collection, before reporting completion. Use balanced by default; compact for dense references, horizontal/vertical only for an explicitly requested flow. Long saved notes become bounded previews; their complete content remains available when opened. Loose text and media retain their typography, size and aspect ratio. Preserves folder membership, content and unrelated items, avoids existing obstacles, and fits a parent folder only when all its children are included; partial additions may grow it. Pass newly created IDs, never the entire workspace. For a folder list its children first. No UI selection is assumed. Atomic. Read getCanvasLayout afterwards to verify.

proposeNoteDeletion

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to prepare deletion of 1–20 specific saved notes in one workspace. Shows their server-verified titles in an in-chat confirmation card. This does NOT delete anything. The user must click the card's Delete button; never treat a chat message as that approval. Deleted notes go to recoverable trash.

read-app-data

ChatGPT
Internal data transport for the Signoapp interface. Only explicitly registered operations are allowed. Enforces account, workspace and connection permissions on every operation.

readCanvasItem

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read stored text for an item in the current canvas, up to 10000 characters. Use IDs returned by the canvas tools or selection. Does not fetch remote pages or parse unprocessed file bytes.

readMoodboardSelection

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read the materials selected for this message, including selected folder contents, in authenticated pages of 20. No implicit workspace-wide selection. Copy nextOffset to continue until null. Derive the moodboard brief from all pages; partial or unavailable means coverage is incomplete: ask to narrow/reselect before creating. Text excerpts can be truncated; readCanvasItem can read full stored text in the general assistant. Titles/text do not establish image appearance; use inspectCanvasImages for relevant bookmark pixels, up to four at a time. Original items stay in place.

refineMoodboard

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to revise the brief of a verified moodboard using its current revision. Existing cards are preserved; pending candidates are reassessed and future additions follow the new direction. Include all still-applicable original constraints in brief.

rename-workspace

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to rename an existing workspace.

renameCanvasItem

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to rename a folder, note, article, image or PDF. On files, updates the display title and filename while preserving the original extension and bytes. Read it first to obtain updatedAt. If it was just edited, use updatedAt from that successful edit result or read it again; never reuse the pre-edit version. Do not rename and edit the same item in one parallel step.

reviewNoteDeletions

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to read the current chat's note deletion proposals and their actual status. Use this to verify whether the user confirmed or cancelled. This tool cannot approve or execute deletion.

search-bookmarks

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to search the current library with optional workspace, kind and archive filters. For images/PDFs/files use kind with an empty query instead of searching for the word image. Results include workspace names, actual folders, filenames and source URLs. Group by workspace then folder. Follow nextCursor even after an empty filtered page.

searchCanvas

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to find saved content throughout this authenticated account unless the user limits the scope. Omit search to browse recent saves. For uploaded images use kind:bookmark, contentType:image and no keyword; never search image/imagen as a substitute for a type filter. Without keywords, pages follow newest database insertions first; compare savedAt and follow all pages before claiming the latest upload, since imported items can have older save dates. Search with one or two distinctive keywords, not the full description: additional words narrow matches. Try alternative concepts in separate calls. When the website is unknown, omit source or use null; never guess a platform because the item is a video/image. For 'something from X' use source: 'x.com' and omit search: both X/Twitter domains and subdomains are checked against actual saved URLs, even without indexed text. Any known website domain works. Do not list folders first or search a platform name as content. Pass workspaceKey or allWorkspaces:false for a restricted search. Empty pages are followed automatically within a bounded budget; continue with the same filters and returned cursor while partial. No internet access.

set-bookmark-tags

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to replace a bookmark's tags with the supplied names. An empty array removes all tags.

update-bookmark

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to update only the supplied bookmark fields. For text notes, note replaces the note content.

updateCanvasItems

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to precisely move, resize, restyle, rename folders or reparent up to 100 existing canvas items atomically. For folder renames supply title in the same geometry patch; this avoids separate rename calls and stale timestamps. Read getCanvasLayout first and copy revisions. Only supplied fields change. x/y are relative to the FINAL folder; folderId:null moves to root. If reparenting without both x/y, the closest free position is chosen near the old absolute position. Geometry edits cannot introduce or increase overlaps with visible siblings, including unselected items; LAYOUT_OVERLAP rejects the whole batch. Folder moves carry children; smaller folders must fit all children; parents grow when needed. Equal width/height values make folders the same size. fontSize/textAlign apply only to text, color to text/folders, opacity to folders. z controls stacking. Locks and concurrent edits reject the whole batch. Use this composable tool for custom timelines, columns, headers and layouts not covered by presets. Verify with getCanvasLayout afterwards.

whoami

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to check connection and return the authenticated account and connection permissions.

write-app-data

ChatGPT
Internal data transport for the Signoapp interface. Only explicitly registered operations are allowed. Enforces account, workspace and connection permissions on every operation.
