Overview

Support By State lets Claude estimate child support for a parent in any of the 50 US states, using that state's official guideline formula with 2026 figures. Ask in plain words, for example "I make $6,000 a month and my ex makes $3,000. We have two kids in Ohio. How much child support would I pay?" The connector returns the estimated monthly amount, the main calculation steps with the statute or court rule behind each one, the state's parenting time rule, and a link to the full calculator on SupportByState.com. It follows each state's own model: income shares schedules, percentage of income states such as Texas and Wisconsin, and the Melson formula in Delaware, Hawaii and Montana. Self-support reserves, minimum orders, parenting time credits, health insurance, child care and support paid for other children are applied the way each state's guidelines apply them. Each state calculator has been checked against that state's official schedule or worksheet. A second tool explains how a state calculates support: the guideline model, the statute, which income counts, minimums and how custody time changes the amount. Results are estimates for planning, not legal advice; the court decides the final amount. No account or sign-in is needed, and the connector does not store questions or answers.
