Overview

Most recurring tasks notify you every time they run—even when nothing changed. TaskNotify gives ChatGPT a direct line to your Telegram chat and your inbox, so it can reach you only when a result, alert, or update is actually worth your attention. Email works straight away, with nothing to connect. Telegram takes one tap to pair. Then let ChatGPT deliver important task outcomes beyond the conversation: messages arrive in real time with rich formatting, and TaskNotify relays message content without storing it. Use TaskNotify to: - Receive meaningful results from recurring tasks by email or Telegram - Skip empty or no-op notifications that only create noise - Get urgent alerts and important updates on your phone or in your inbox - Email yourself a summary, a report, or a generated file - Pair or reconnect a private Telegram chat without copying tokens - Send readable notifications with bold text, links, code, and quotes

Tools

sendEmail

ChatGPT
Use this tool whenever the user's request or a workflow/task requires sending an email to themselves — a summary, a report, a document, or a notification. It is typically used in scheduled or background flows, where the trigger conditions were agreed with the user in advance and the user is not present when the send happens. The email is always delivered to the address on the user's own TaskNotify account; there is no recipient parameter and this tool cannot email anyone else. For formatting, use only these HTML tags: <b>, <i>, <u>, <s>, <code>, <pre>, <a href="URL">, <blockquote>, <p>, <br>, <ul>, <ol>, <li>, <h1>–<h3>. Do not use Markdown, CSS, <style>, <div>, <table> or images — they are stripped. Supported attachments: JPEG, PNG, WebP, PDF, TXT, MD, CSV, JSON, up to 12 MB, one per email.

sendTelegramMessage

ChatGPT
Use this tool whenever the user's request or a workflow/task requires sending a Telegram message, image, or supported file (JPEG, PNG, WebP, PDF, TXT, MD, CSV, JSON, or JS) to the chat paired with the user's TaskNotify account. It is typically used in scheduled or background flows, where the trigger conditions were agreed with the user in advance and the user is not present when the send happens.

setupTelegram

ChatGPT
Use this tool when the user wants to set up Telegram notifications for the first time, reconnect, or check whether Telegram is already connected. Do NOT call this tool before sending a message just because you do not know the pairing status. In a new conversation you never know it, and most users connected Telegram long ago. Call sendTelegramMessage directly; it tells you to call this tool if — and only if — the chat is not connected. For an explicit setup, configure, connect, or switch-chat request, call this tool with forceReconnect: true so the user always receives a fresh pairing link, even if this account still has an existing connection. Omit forceReconnect only when the user is asking to check the current connection status. If the result status is "pending_confirmation", show the returned pairingUrl to the user as a clickable link and tell them to open it and press "Start" in Telegram. Do not invent your own instructions or link text. If the user says they already opened the bot without a link (e.g. arrived at the bot directly and it asked them to say "Configure Telegram in TaskNotify"), just call this tool again to get a fresh link. A stale connection (bot blocked, chat deleted) is detected automatically: if the stored chat is no longer reachable, this returns a fresh "pending_confirmation" link instead of "paired", with wording that explains the old connection broke — show that link the same way as a first-time setup. If the user explicitly wants to switch to a different Telegram chat while the current one still works, call this again with forceReconnect: true to get a new pairing link even though status is already "paired".
