prepare_quiz_content
ChatGPTPrepare the content ChatGPT needs to write a quiz from a previously processed YouTube video. Use after process_video returns a lessonId and the user replies with their lesson preferences. Reads the stored transcript for that lessonId and returns the timestamped transcript, video title and ID, question count, difficulty, focus, and instructions for writing the lesson items. Optional audience, item types, and language customize those instructions when supported. ChatGPT writes the questions from this content; save_lesson stores the completed items and returns the interactive lesson link. This tool is read-only: it does not generate or save questions, change stored data, or make external requests. Returns an error if the transcript draft is missing or expired.
process_video
ChatGPTUse this when the user shares a YouTube link or video ID and wants a quiz or lesson from it. Fetches the video's captions, stores a temporary draft, and returns the video title, length, and a lessonId. The transcript itself is not returned. Building the lesson (prepare_quiz_content) uses the user's preferences, so the usual next step is to ask the user for them. TeacherGPT lessons can include multiple-choice, short-answer and open questions, notes, and key terms.
save_lesson
ChatGPTStores the finished lesson items for a lessonId (from prepare_quiz_content) and returns an unlisted lesson link. The link opens the interactive video lesson, where items appear as the video plays. Creates the lesson once; repeated calls return the existing lesson.
