Prepare details from the user's photo and instructions; ask for missing price/currency, variant and stock details. Prices are seller base amounts in integer minor units. Consult get_product_creation_options for app categories and image guidance. If the user requests photo edits, edit the image using the host's image capability first and attach that result. image_files must contain exactly one ChatGPT file reference; never invent a file reference or download URL. Generate a unique idempotency_key (16-128 letters, digits, underscores or hyphens) once per intended new product; reuse it with the same details/photo on every retry to prevent duplicates. Active products are published in the app; use inactive when the user requests a draft. The app applies customer markup, classification and age verification. Return success only from the saved result.

update_product
ChatGPTEdit product details, seller base prices, stock, status or the main photo in the connected business. Requires products:write. Call get_product first and pass its exact updatedAt as expected_updated_at. Only supplied product fields change. If supplying variants, send the entire intended variant list and preserve existing _id values, photos, prices and quantities unless the user requests changes. Omit image_files to keep the current photo; pass one uploaded or host-edited ChatGPT image to replace it. Use the host's image editor for requested photo edits, preserving real labels and product attributes. On a conflict or uncertain response, reload the product before retrying. Never retry blindly.
