Overview

TrimCarbon works out the CO₂ of general-aviation flying, for one pilot, a flight school or club fleet, or an amount of fuel. Ask in plain words, such as "What's the CO₂ of 50 hours a year in a Cessna 172?", and the result shows in an interactive card where you can change the hours or the fuel and see the figure update. What you can do: - Estimate from aircraft type and hours, for about 60 general-aviation types from the Cessna 152 to the Beechcraft Baron, found by name or ICAO code. - Estimate a whole fleet, up to 25 aircraft types, per year or in total. - Estimate from fuel burned: avgas 100LL, mogas or Jet A, in US gallons, liters or kg. - Read a ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot or LogTen logbook export in the card. The file is read on your device and never uploaded; you choose whether to share the totals with Claude. - See what offsetting the figure would cost, when you ask. You sign up and pay on trimcarbon.com: nothing is bought in the chat. - Connect your TrimCarbon account (optional, read-only) to see how much CO₂ you have offset, list your orders, open a certificate with its projects, registries and retirement serial numbers, and follow the CO₂ offset through the TrimCarbon API. How the figures work: each type's CO₂ per hour comes from its cruise fuel flow at about 75% power, and fuel is converted to CO₂ with EPA factors (8.31 kg per US gallon of avgas). The figures count the CO₂ from burning the fuel only, not fuel production or non-CO₂ effects such as contrails. Every result links to the trimcarbon.com page that explains it. Privacy: each tool call sends only its inputs, such as aircraft types, hours, fuel amounts or a certificate number. TrimCarbon doesn't receive your conversation. All tools are read-only, and you can disconnect your account at any time.
