Overview

Turnpoint makes a code change easier to understand. Instead of mentally piecing together a long diff, follow an interactive, handwritten map of the functions, classes and data involved. See what changed, switch between before and after, walk through the affected path, and tap any block for its source file and exact lines. Optional plain-language narration explains the observed behavior without hiding the evidence. Supports JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX and TSX. Static analysis follows relationships in the supplied files; it does not run code, prove runtime behavior or invent missing dependencies. The plugin adds a visual explanation inside the conversation and leaves the host’s built-in diff available. No account or API key is needed. The hosted tools process only the selected source or analysis provided to them, in memory, without storing it. The standalone editor analyzes code locally in your browser.

Tools

analyze_code

ChatGPT
Statically parse supplied JavaScript/TypeScript/JSX/TSX files into functions, methods, classes, data and source-linked relationships. Compare complete before and after files, or map one version. Returns the complete graph and evidence for show_code_story. Does not run code, access files, fetch imports, use an LLM or store submitted source. External and dynamic calls remain unresolved. Use after a coding task or when a user asks how supplied code works.

get_code_example

ChatGPT
Return a complete illustrative checkout-change or React-component example, its analysis and source-grounded narration. All source is invented demonstration code. Use when someone asks for a Turnpoint demo, then pass analysis to show_code_story. Does not read user source or open the view itself.

show_code_story

ChatGPT
Render the complete result of analyze_code as an interactive handwritten flowchart inside the conversation. Includes before/after, guided steps, source lines, changes and data dependencies. Call only after analysis. Optional plain-language narration must be grounded in the analyzed source; never claim a runtime order or invent edges. This adds a view; it does not replace the host built-in diff panel. Read-only rendering, no storage.
