Verbamor

By Colin Nevis Taylor

Overview

Practicing Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese or Russian in chat? Ask for Verbamor cards. The assistant picks the words, phrases and grammar slips from your practice, or useful ones for a topic you name, and Verbamor shows them as flip cards and a short quiz right in the chat. Each pack gets a code and a link, so you can keep studying the same words later with spaced repetition in the Verbamor app for iPhone and iPad. Verbamor only receives the cards the assistant writes, never your conversation. No account is needed to make cards or take the quiz. Good to know: a pack holds up to 50 words or phrases and 20 grammar cards. Translations and grammar notes are in English. Packs last 30 days, and anyone with a pack's code or link can see its cards, so keep personal details out of them.

Save a set of language study cards and show them as flip cards and a quiz. Call this only when the learner asks for flashcards, study cards, a study pack, or Verbamor. You choose the items. Pick what this learner most needs from the practice in this chat: words and phrases they did not know, got wrong or will need next, and grammar mistakes they made. If the learner names a topic instead, choose useful words and phrases for that topic. Make a full pack: include every item that is useful to this learner, up to 50 words or phrases and 20 grammar items. Do not stop at a few. Send fewer only when the chat or topic has fewer useful items. Write every field yourself. Terms and example sentences are in the language being learned. Translations, rules and hints are in English. Do NOT send the conversation, a transcript, the learner's messages or sentences, names, places, contact details, links or anything personal. For a grammar card, write a NEW example sentence that shows the same rule; never copy what the learner wrote. Supported languages: es (Spanish), fr (French), it (Italian), pt (Portuguese), ru (Russian), de (German).
