Overview

Vinci is your personal knowledge vault: the videos and newsletters you choose to follow and keep, each with notes on why it matters to you. This plugin brings your vault into ChatGPT, so you can work with what you have already saved. Ask what you've saved about any topic and get the exact moments, linked to the right second of the video. Open Vinci's notes on any item - TL;DR, key points, why it matters for you, notable quotes - or its full text when you need exact wording. Open Vinci from the sidebar to go through today's new arrivals from the creators you follow, keep or skip them, and browse what you recently saved. Paste a video link and ask ChatGPT to keep it, or ask it to follow a creator - Vinci adds it to your vault in the background. In the ChatGPT desktop app you can @-mention a saved item to bring its notes into the conversation. Who it's for: founders, operators, researchers and learners who follow more long-form content than they can watch, and want what they've learned to stay searchable. Limits: Vinci only works with your own vault (and vaults shared with you) - it is not a search engine for videos you haven't saved. Newly saved items take a few minutes before they are searchable. The plugin never deletes anything. Requires a Vinci account, which you can create while connecting.

Tools

follow_channel

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks to follow or track a creator's YouTube channel in Vinci (a channel URL, @handle, or one of its video links). From then on new uploads arrive in the user's daily triage with Vinci's notes, for the user to save or skip. Set pullRecent only when the user also wants the channel's recent videos brought in now - it uses their monthly processing allowance.

get_account_overview

ChatGPT
Use this for questions about the Vinci account itself rather than video content: how many channels are followed, how many items are in the vault (the same count the app's Vault page shows; processed vs. still processing vs. failed), how many new feed videos wait in triage or were skipped, whether the daily digest email is on, and this month's processing usage.

get_full_text

ChatGPT
Use this when the user needs exact wording, a precise quote, or a detail Vinci's notes leave out. Returns the full text of one item in the user's vault - what was said in a saved video, or a newsletter issue's body - optionally with [mm:ss] timestamps. Long texts are truncated. Prefer get_video for an overview.

get_video

ChatGPT
Use this when you need Vinci's notes on one item in the user's vault: TL;DR, key points, why it matters to the user, notable quotes with timestamps, and topics. Get the videoId from search_vault or list_videos first.

list_channels

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks which creators or channels they follow in Vinci, or how many of their saved items come from each. Also lists sources that appear in the vault only through pasted links or newsletters.

list_videos

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to browse or count what is in their vault rather than search it - e.g. 'what did I save this week', 'list my videos from <channel>', or 'what is waiting in my triage'. Returns videos with processing state and relevance score, paged with offset. Sort by added to see what the user put in most recently - a pasted link to an older video is newest by date added but old by publish date.

mention_vault

ChatGPT
Typeahead search over the user's vault for composer @-mentions. Returns matching items as resource links.

open_vinci

ChatGPT
Use this when the user wants to open or browse Vinci itself - their triage of new videos and what they recently saved - as an interactive view where they can read summaries and save or skip videos. For answering a question, prefer search_vault and get_video.

save_video

ChatGPT
Use this when the user explicitly asks to save, add or keep a specific video in their Vinci vault (they give a YouTube link or video id). Vinci adds it to the vault and prepares its notes in the background; it becomes searchable a few minutes later. Saving a video that is already in the vault is harmless. Do not use it just to answer a question about a video - only when the user wants it kept.

search_vault

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks what they have watched, saved or read about a topic, person or idea. Searches the user's own Vinci vault - the videos and newsletters they chose to keep - by keyword and meaning, and returns matching moments with titles, timestamps and a link to the exact moment. Keyword matching covers titles, channel names, Vinci's notes and topics. Pass channel to search within one channel only. Use it first for almost every question about the user's own content. Do not use it for general web or video search - it only covers what the user saved.

show_videos

ChatGPT
Use this to show specific vault videos to the user as visual cards, after finding them with search_vault or list_videos. Pass their videoIds (1-8): one id shows a full summary card, several show a scrollable list. Don't call it after every search - only when seeing the videos helps the user.

triage_video

ChatGPT
Use this when the user decides about a new video waiting in their Vinci triage: save keeps it in the vault (searchable), skip dismisses it from triage. Get ids from list_videos with scope 'triage'. Reversible - a skipped video can still be saved later.

vault_home

ChatGPT
Returns the Vinci app's home view - triage plus recently added. Called by the Vinci UI to refresh itself.
