Overview

Find vehicles listed by U.S. dealers and understand their asking prices. Search inventory by make, model, year, trim, state, and other vehicle filters. Open a listing to see available specifications and equipment, or look up a VIN to find its Visor status and latest known listing. Explore dealer profiles and inventory, see vehicle market counts and price distributions, and compare a listing with a defined cohort. Market context reports its filters and sample size and provides comparisons only when at least ten priced listings match. Visor supports state-level and nationwide searches. Inventory can change and some details may be unavailable. Asking prices are not transaction values or out-the-door quotes. Visor is read-only; vehicle purchases, reservations, and seller contact take place outside the plugin. Connect your Visor account to get started.

Tools

get_dealer

ChatGPT
Get one dealer's profile by dealer_id: location, website, franchise makes, dealer group, active listing count, phone, address, and published sales hours. Unknown dealers return 404 not_found_error. dealer_id is URL-encoded by the SDK. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

get_dealer_inventory

ChatGPT
List one dealer's listings, with the GET /v1/listings filters, sort, fields, and pagination. For several dealers or a dealer group, use GET /v1/listings with dealer_id or dealer_group_id. Each VIN appears once, at the dealer Visor attributes it to. dealer_id is URL-encoded by the SDK. Collection limit defaults to 50; values above 100 are rejected with validation_error. sold_within_days and snapshot_date cannot be combined. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

get_listing

ChatGPT
Get one listing by listing_id (the id of a /v1/listings result): price, mileage, photos, pricing line items, dealer contact, and the vehicle's build. Use GET /v1/vins/{vin} when you have a VIN instead. A listing_id that no longer resolves returns the same vehicle's current listing, else its latest sold listing, with requested_listing_id set to the id you asked for. Otherwise it returns 404 not_found_error. listing_id is URL-encoded by the SDK. include supports price_history and options. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

get_listing_market_context

ChatGPT
Compare one Visor listing's price with active, positively priced listings matching make, model, year, trim, and inventory type. Defaults to the dealer's state (nationwide if unknown); used and certified vehicles also match within 10000 odometer miles by default. Returns exact filters, priced sample size, USD price statistics, and difference from the median. Requires at least ten priced listings; smaller samples are reported without price comparisons and are never broadened automatically. Options, drivetrain, condition, and history are not matched. The comparison uses the price including dealer fees, before tax and registration (price_with_fees), not a transaction value. Uses up to two public API reads under the connected account's normal entitlement and metering.

get_market_statistics

ChatGPT
Count listings matching the filters, grouped by the facets you name (facets=make, model, price), with stats for numeric facets. Use it for totals, filter values, market mix, and grouped averages or percentiles; use GET /v1/listings for listing rows. Supported facets: make, model, model_code, inventory_type, year, trim, version, base_exterior_color, exterior_color, base_interior_color, interior_color, paint_program, seating_capacity, doors, engine, state, drivetrain, assembly_location, assembly_country, original_market, transmission, fuel_type, powertrain_type, body_type, cylinders, dealer_type, availability_status, certifier_type, certification_program, title_status, options_packages, features, upfitter, price, price_with_fees, msrp, miles, days_on_market. facets is required and must name at least one facet. A non-count metric requires exactly one selected categorical facet. Use metric or metrics (1 to 6 distinct non-count metrics), not both. Metric sorting uses the first requested metric. facet_value_limit applies per categorical facet value list; values above 100 are rejected with validation_error. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

get_specs

ChatGPT
Get the OpenSpec catalog node for a spec_ref from resolve_vehicle or a listing: a make's models, a model's years, a year's trims, configurations, options with per-trim availability, prices, rules, and colors, or a trim's or configuration's configurations, attributes, options, and colors with prices. null means unknown, not absent. Adds a market rollup: active listings under the spec_ref and, one level down, active listing counts with median and mean listed prices (withheld below ten listings). An unknown spec_ref fails with the closest refs in suggestions. The spec read is free; the market rollup is one public API facets read under the connected account's normal entitlement and metering.

get_usage

ChatGPT
Get your API account's billable request counts and charges per day and metering class, for up to 366 days (default: the last 30 days). Use it to track spend and reconcile billing. Totals are eventually consistent with billing. Usage totals are eventually consistent with billing. Unbillable account usage read.

lookup_vin

ChatGPT
Look up a 17-character VIN in Visor's own inventory and retained listing history. Returns active, sold, or missing status, build data, and the latest known listing, with optional options and price history. Unseen VINs return not found. vin is URL-encoded by the SDK. include supports price_history and options. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

resolve_vehicle

ChatGPT
Turn free text such as 2026 F-150 Lariat, RX 350, or Silverado into ranked OpenSpec spec_refs at any depth: make, model, model year, trim, or configuration. Matching ignores case, spacing, punctuation, and ®/™, and compares whole words against make, model, year, trim, and configuration names; it never guesses at misspellings. When some candidates match every word, only those are returned. Pass a spec_ref to GET /v1/specs/{spec_ref} for its specs. Returns at most 10 candidates. Unbillable.

search_dealers

ChatGPT
Find dealers by state, country, type, franchise make, dealer group, dealer_id, or a name and website search (q). Returns dealer summaries ordered by active listing count. Use GET /v1/dealers/{dealer_id} for phone, address, and sales hours, and GET /v1/dealers/{dealer_id}/listings for a dealer's inventory. listing_count counts each VIN once, at the dealer Visor attributes it to, so it can differ from the dealer's own website. Collection limit defaults to 50; values above 100 are rejected with validation_error. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.

search_listings

ChatGPT
Search US vehicle listings; returns one page of listing summaries. Active by default; inventory_status=sold or sold_within_days returns sold listings, snapshot_date a past day's inventory. Each VIN appears once, at the dealer Visor attributes it to. Use GET /v1/facets for counts, filter values, and price stats, and GET /v1/dealers/{dealer_id}/listings for one dealer. Unknown parameters fail with 400 validation_error. Collection limit defaults to 50; values above 100 are rejected with validation_error. sold_within_days and snapshot_date cannot be combined. Uses the connected account's normal API entitlement and metering.
