Overview

WealthStoryLine runs a 3,000-path Monte Carlo simulation of a household's finances: one household income, living expenses, today's savings and investment returns, under random inflation, salary growth and market returns. Ask questions such as "Can I retire at 60?", "Will my savings last?" or "Can I reach $500,000 by 45?" and get the probability of reaching your goal, the bankruptcy rate and net-asset ranges for good, middle and bad outcomes in today's money, together with the assumptions that were used. Who it is for: individuals, couples and financial educators who want to check a plan and its risks in plain language. It supports about 190 countries; Taiwan, Japan, the US, China and Canada use curated assumptions, other countries use 2005-2024 averages of official statistics (World Bank, OECD, BIS). No sign-in is required. The plugin receives only the numbers needed for a simulation, not your conversation; anonymous inputs and results are deleted after 30 days. Limitations: results are projections for planning discussions, not financial advice or a guarantee. Home purchases, mortgages, several incomes and fund portfolios are not modelled in this plugin (they are available on the WealthStoryLine website). Taxes and insurance are not modelled. It cannot trade, move money or connect to bank or brokerage accounts.

Tools

explain_methodology

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks how WealthStoryLine calculates its results, which assumptions it uses or how far to trust them. Returns the simulation method, number of paths, the outputs, the modules offered and the model's main limitations (for example, taxes and insurance are not modelled).

get_country_defaults

ChatGPT
Return the default macro assumptions (inflation, salary growth, house prices, base rate; mean and standard deviation in percent; 2004-2024 for curated countries, 2005-2024 for others) and currency used for a country, given as an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (about 190 countries; TW, JP, US, CN and CA have curated values, others use 2005-2024 averages).

get_simulation_result

ChatGPT
Fetch the result of an earlier quick_simulation call that returned status 'pending', using the exact simulation_id string it returned.

quick_simulation

ChatGPT
Use this when the user asks whether their plan will work: can I retire at a given age, will my savings last, will I reach a target amount by some age. Runs a 3,000-path Monte Carlo simulation with one household income, one living-expense amount, today's savings and an optional target. Example: 'I'm 40 in the US with $200,000 saved, earn $120,000 and spend $70,000 a year; can I retire at 60 with a $24,000 pension and have $1 million by then?' Amounts are yearly, in full units of the country's currency. Returns the success probability, bankruptcy rate, inflation-adjusted net-asset ranges and the defaults used. Does not model home purchases, mortgages or other loans; for those, point the user to the WealthStoryLine website. Each call saves one anonymous simulation record (the inputs above and the result, no name, email or account) on the WealthStoryLine server for 30 days so get_simulation_result can fetch it again; it does not change any user account, file or external system. Projections for planning discussions, not financial advice.
