Overview

Winnow helps growers answer questions about their own farm operations in ChatGPT. The app exposes schema discovery and read-only SQL query tools over the farm's scoped operation, field, and weather tables, with server-side validation that rejects non-SELECT statements and out-of-scope datasets.

A layer is one field operation's points ({"operation": field_operation_id, "color_by"?}), one trial's treatment areas ({"trial": trial_id}), a set of field outlines ({"fields": [field_id, ...]}), one field's lab soil samples for one sampling year ({"soil_samples": field_id, "year"?, "color_by"?}), or one field's USDA soil survey map units ({"ssurgo": field_id, "color_by"?}). Lab samples are measured; the survey is an estimate of inherent soil. Find the IDs with execute_sql first, and confirm the field with the user if more than one matches. Prefer one field per map. Every layer's field is outlined. Pass the user's question in user_question.
