Overview

Calculate greenhouse-gas emissions in chat with published emission factors. Each answer shows the factor, its source and edition, and the formula. Electricity (Scope 2, location-based), fuel combustion (Scope 1), business flights and freight (Scope 3) use the national factor for the country you give. No country is ever assumed: without one, or for a fuel or unit the factor library cannot price, the tool says why and what to send instead. For goods exported to the EU, look up the CBAM default value for a CN code and country of origin, with the year's mark-up, from the European Commission's published tables. For Indian listed companies, get what SEBI's BRSR Core asks for in its greenhouse-gas footprint attribute and the assessment or assurance timeline, with the source. Nothing is stored unless you ask to save your calculations. Saved calculations are kept under a private link for 14 days, where you can view them or bring them into a ZeroCarbon workspace.

Tools

calculate_electricity_emissions

Claude
Scope 2 (location-based) emissions of grid electricity, from kWh and the country, using that country's published national grid factor for the current edition. Returns the figure with the factor, its source and the formula.

calculate_flight_emissions

Claude
Scope 3 business-travel emissions of economy-class flights from the one-way distance, banded short, medium or long haul. Route distances are not estimated: send the distance in km.

calculate_freight_emissions

Claude
Scope 3 emissions of moving goods by road, rail, sea or air, from the weight and distance (tonne-km) and the published factor for the mode.

calculate_fuel_emissions

Claude
Scope 1 emissions from burning a fuel, using the published factor for the country. Units convert within a dimension (gallons to litres, lb to kg); a fuel or unit the factor library cannot price is refused with the reason.

explain_brsr_core_indicator

Claude
What SEBI's BRSR Core asks Indian listed companies to disclose for the greenhouse-gas footprint attribute (Scope 1, Scope 2, GHG intensity) and who must have it assessed or assured, by year. Other BRSR Core attributes are not covered and are refused.

lookup_cbam_default_value

Claude
The EU CBAM default value (tCO2e per tonne of good) for a CN code and country of origin, from Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2621 as corrected by (EU) 2026/1740, with the year's mark-up. Given a quantity, it also returns the embedded emissions at that default. A code that is too coarse returns the sub-codes to choose from.

save_to_zerocarbon

Claude
Only when the user asks to keep or save their calculations: recalculates the listed ones and stores them under a private link, valid 14 days, where they can be viewed or attached to a ZeroCarbon workspace. Pass each calculation as the tool name and the exact arguments it was run with.
