ZoomRadar Weather

By Scopic, Inc.

Overview

Shows the live ZoomRadar radar map for any US location, with warnings, watches, temperatures, wind, lightning, storm reports and storm tracks. Answers "what's the weather" and "is it safe" questions from live warnings, nearby station observations and storms within 50 miles, and gives the official National Weather Service forecast for up to 7 days. For US locations only. Weather information is for general guidance; it is not an official warning service, so always follow official alerts from the National Weather Service and local emergency authorities. No account or sign-in needed.

Tools

get_weather_forecast

ChatGPT

Returns the official National Weather Service forecast as text for one US location, in day and night periods (temperature, wind, chance of precipitation, conditions). Use for "forecast", "tomorrow", "this weekend", "will it rain". US locations only.

show_weather_map

ChatGPT

Shows the live interactive ZoomRadar radar map and, for one US place, the current conditions as text: active warnings and advisories covering it (with impact and safety actions), temperature and wind from the nearest station, and storms or storm reports within 50 miles. Use for any question about current weather, radar, storms, alerts or "is it safe", and whenever the user wants to see the map. One call answers both the weather and the map. For a state or wider region set zoom 7 or lower; conditions are then left out. For a future outlook use get_weather_forecast. Interpret intent: "storms"/"severe weather" → storm_reports, storm_tracks and warnings true; "temperatures" → temperatures true; "wind" → winds true; "lightning" → lightning true; "animate"/"radar loop" → animate true. Omit any layer the user did not mention to keep defaults. Provide lat/lng yourself when you know the place; pass location only as a fallback for geocoding. Always end your reply with the "Full map" link from the result, as a clickable link.
