Overview

Boardy introduces people who should meet, when both sides want to. Let ChatGPT research your public profiles and write an introduction, then review it in the Boardy card. You decide what to share and when to send. On desktop, send your introduction and talk to Boardy in the panel. On mobile, continue in iMessage or Messages with the prepared introduction. Once linked, view matches, accept or decline introductions, and join upcoming meetings. Choosing Research with ChatGPT saves the public report and sources to Boardy separately from your messages. ChatGPT never accepts or declines matches for you. Please do not share government ID, health details, card numbers or passwords. Boardy is an AI and can make mistakes, so check anything important with the people involved.

Tools

begin_mobile_onboarding

ChatGPT
Start an introduction after the user taps Onboard with ChatGPT. This provides instructions only; it does not send a message.

begin_onboarding

ChatGPT
Start an introduction after the user taps Onboard with ChatGPT. This provides instructions only; it does not send a message.

check_for_replies

ChatGPT
Fetch messages in the chat with Boardy newer than the given time, any draft waiting to be sent, and completion results for requested research handoffs.

discard_draft

ChatGPT
Remove an ordinary chat answer draft from the Boardy window. This does not change or discard a saved onboarding introduction.

draft_answer_for_boardy

ChatGPT
On desktop, "Answer Boardy's question for me" requests a reviewable answer in the Boardy window through draft_answer_for_boardy, including when the user supplies facts for the answer. Those facts are draft content, not a request to send. The draft stays unsent for review; send_to_boardy applies when the user explicitly requests sending the message or the reviewed draft. Open the window first if it is not showing. Replaces any existing chat answer draft with an answer written from what you know about the user. Nothing is sent: the user taps Send or Edit. Use stage_intro for onboarding introductions. On mobile, no draft is saved; the user reads and answers Boardy in Messages. Pass experience mobile_onboarding for the mobile card.

get_match_note_photo

ChatGPT
Load the photo of the person in a match note shown in the Boardy window.

get_mobile_matches

ChatGPT
Load active matches for the connected mobile Boardy account. Includes pending introductions and booked meetings. Available after the phone is linked.

list_boardy_meetings

ChatGPT
See upcoming meetings booked by Boardy.

open_boardy_chat

ChatGPT
Open Boardy when the user asks to see it or is setting it up. On desktop, also open the window before sending a message, sharing a file or drafting an answer if it is not already showing. Reuse an existing window. Ordinary desktop messages do not require a completed introduction. send_to_boardy accepts user-approved ordinary messages when introductionStatus is needed and hasStartedOnboarding is false. On mobile, use the Boardy card for onboarding and touch-only match actions. Keep the composer closed. Pass experience mobile_onboarding when opening or reading the mobile view. Wait for the user to tap Onboard with ChatGPT before researching or writing; hasStartedOnboarding confirms that step. After writing, call stage_intro with the complete introduction and a fresh UUID requestId to show the review card in this same turn. On mobile, the reviewed introduction continues in the phone’s messaging app. The user taps Continue in iMessage or Continue in Messages in the Boardy card, then reviews and sends the prepared text in Messages. Opening a link is not proof of sending. Boardy links the accounts when the actual text arrives. The server adds the linking code automatically; never invent, alter or ask the user to type a code. The Boardy card omits this routing footer from its preview. Do not claim the introduction was sent or the account was linked until the server confirms it. Once mobileTextHandoff has status linked, show View matches for Accept or Decline, pending introductions, introductions made and booked meetings. A linked returning user needs no new introduction. The card chooses iMessage on iPhone and Messages on Android; do not guess which phone the user has. Read the current status and follow the next step. New users choose Onboard with ChatGPT before research or composition of their introduction starts. Their complete introduction is staged with stage_intro for review in the card. Only the user can submit that saved introduction through the card. For a returning conversation, open it and read its messages. To catch up without opening another window, use read_boardy_chat.

read_boardy_chat

ChatGPT
Read the latest messages and introduction status without showing anything. Always call after open_boardy_chat, including when opening returns no text, to get the conversation and introduction state. Ordinary desktop messages do not require a completed introduction. send_to_boardy accepts user-approved ordinary messages when introductionStatus is needed and hasStartedOnboarding is false. In the mobile onboarding view pass experience mobile_onboarding, and follow its next step instead of treating the input as a Boardy conversation. On desktop, also use to catch up before answering, drafting or summarizing.

refresh_mobile_text_handoff

ChatGPT
Refresh an expired mobile Messages link after the user taps Refresh iMessage link. Reuses the saved introduction without sending a message.

respond_to_match

ChatGPT
Record the connected user’s explicit Accept or confirmed Decline tap for this match. Accept gives consent to an introduction; Boardy may contact the other person or make the introduction when both accept. Decline requires the reasons selected in the popup and removes the match. Never choose on the user’s behalf.

respond_to_match_note

ChatGPT
Record the connected user’s own Yes or Pass tap on a match note in the Boardy window. Yes gives consent to an introduction. Pass may include the user’s own optional feedback. Never choose on the user’s behalf.

save_person_research

ChatGPT
Save the completed public research report and source links about a person suggested by Boardy. Use after the user chooses Research with ChatGPT and its handoff asks to save the report to Boardy. The report must be match agnostic and only about the researched person: background, roles, projects, expertise and public profiles, with uncertainty labeled. Exclude the requesting user’s private context, matching rationale, recommendations about the pairing and hidden reasoning. Use the exact matchId and requestId from the research handoff; never guess them. This stores a separate research record without sending a chat message, waking Boardy or changing the match. After it succeeds, show the full report and source links once in your final reply. Reuse the same requestId and exact payload for retries.

send_file_to_boardy

ChatGPT
Send a file the user attached in this chat to Boardy, like texting it to him. Boardy keeps it and reads it to understand who they are and who they should meet, then replies in the Boardy window. Only for files the user asked to share: a pitch deck, a resume, a PDF or a photo. Never send identity documents, health records, bank or card details, or anything with passwords. One file per call; with several files, send them one after another, not at the same time. Put what the user said about the file in the caption, in their words. This action is available on desktop; open the Boardy window first if it is not showing. On mobile, share the file in Messages instead. Pass experience mobile_onboarding for the mobile card; no file is downloaded or sent in that mode.

send_to_boardy

ChatGPT
Use when the user asks to send an ordinary message to Boardy on desktop. Ordinary desktop messages do not require a completed introduction. send_to_boardy accepts user-approved ordinary messages when introductionStatus is needed and hasStartedOnboarding is false. Relaying a match decision requires the user's explicit Yes or Pass for a specific person. A request to "choose for me" does not supply that choice. In that case, summarize the available profile without selecting or recommending Yes or Pass, then ask for the user's selection; do not invent a decision or prepare a draft that selects one. Sends the supplied text as the user's message and returns the sent message with any Boardy reply available during the call. The message and replies appear in the Boardy window; open_boardy_chat displays that window. Later replies can be retrieved with read_boardy_chat. Onboarding introductions are prepared with stage_intro and submitted through the card after the user reviews them. In mobile_onboarding mode this action sends nothing; conversations continue in Messages.

settings.get_help

ChatGPT
Use when the user asks how to contact Boardy support, report a problem, or get help with a privacy question, or selects the help action in Boardy settings. Returns instructions to describe the problem in the Boardy conversation and ask Boardy to pass it to the team, along with privacy@boardy.ai for privacy questions. This tool returns contact instructions only; it does not send a message, contact support, create a ticket, or submit a privacy request.

settings.get_instructions_to_disconnect_boardy_from_chatgpt

ChatGPT
Use when the user asks how to remove the Boardy connection from ChatGPT, or selects the disconnect help action in Boardy settings. Returns instructions to open Boardy in ChatGPT app settings and disconnect it there. Explains that disconnecting does not delete the conversation history stored by Boardy. The user must complete the disconnect action in ChatGPT settings; this tool does not revoke access, disconnect the account, stop text messages or emails, or delete data.

settings.get_instructions_to_request_boardy_data_deletion

ChatGPT
Use when the user asks how to delete or anonymize personal data held by Boardy, or selects the data-deletion help action in Boardy settings. Returns the privacy contact address, privacy@boardy.ai, and instructions to email that address with a deletion or anonymization request. This tool does not send an email, open a deletion request, delete stored information, or confirm that deletion has occurred. The user must contact Boardy to request deletion or anonymization.

settings.get_instructions_to_stop_boardy_texts_and_emails

ChatGPT
Use when the user asks how to unsubscribe from Boardy text messages or emails, or selects the stop-messages help action in Boardy settings. Returns instructions to reply STOP to a Boardy text message or use the unsubscribe link in a Boardy email. The user must complete the unsubscribe action in their messaging or email app. Calling this tool does not send a message, unsubscribe the user, change notification preferences, or disconnect Boardy from ChatGPT.

settings.handle_boardy_view_only_settings_update_request

ChatGPT
Use only when ChatGPT submits a settings update through the Boardy settings-page integration. Accepts the requested values in set, but the Boardy page currently has no editable fields, so none of those values are applied or persisted. Returns an explanation that settings cannot be changed here and an empty values object. This tool does not change account preferences, stop messages, disconnect Boardy, or delete data. For user questions about those actions, use the corresponding settings help tool to return instructions instead.

settings.read

ChatGPT
Use when ChatGPT needs to render or refresh the Boardy settings page. Returns the settings schema, current values, and page layout, including sign-in information, a button to open the Boardy conversation, and help actions for unsubscribing, disconnecting, requesting data deletion, and contacting support. The page has no editable fields, so its schema properties and values are empty. This tool does not change settings or read conversation messages. Use open_boardy_chat to show the conversation or read_boardy_chat to retrieve its messages.

stage_intro

ChatGPT
Save the complete introduction as an unsent draft in the Boardy card after the user chooses Onboard with ChatGPT, so the user can review it and send it from the card. This does not send it. A new revision replaces the current draft. Use a fresh UUID requestId for each revision, and the same requestId and text when retrying. Write only the introduction, without a linking code.

submit_intro

ChatGPT
Send the exact saved introduction after the user reviews it and taps Send in the Boardy card. Only the app can call this action. A retry with the same draftId must not send it twice.

transcribe_voice_note

ChatGPT
Turn a short recording made in the Boardy window into text for the person to review. Nothing is sent to Boardy and the recording is not kept.
