Overview
Carbone lets Claude produce your invoices, quotes, contracts, reports, certificates and statements from your own templates, as polished PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. Unlike a document written from scratch by AI, every file keeps the exact layout, branding and fonts of your template: Claude collects the data, and Carbone, a document generation and conversion engine, merges it into the template the same way every time. Start from the documents you already have. Design templates in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, LibreOffice, Google Docs, HTML or Markdown, or use an existing PDF form, without coding: tags such as {d.customer.name} mark where the data goes. Claude reads a template to see which data it needs, then fills it from your other connectors, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Odoo, n8n or Notion. It can also design or edit a template with you, or create one from scratch around your data. The server gives Claude tools to: - generate documents from a template and JSON data - inspect a template, list the data it expects and draft a sample JSON - convert files between 36 formats, such as Word, Excel, HTML or Markdown to PDF - manage your template library: upload, version, deploy, tag, download and delete templates Carbone handles real business documents: tables that grow with your data, conditional sections, calculations, charts, barcodes, QR codes and images. It renders the same template in several languages, with dates, numbers and currencies formatted for each, produces one document per customer, employee or order, protects PDFs with a password or a watermark, creates PDF/A for archiving, converts between 36 formats, and keeps a versioned template library you manage from the conversation.
