Overview

ChefBear turns a restaurant menu into something you can talk through with Claude. Connect your ChefBear account and share a link to a menu photo, and ChefBear reads it into a private, structured menu: dish names, short descriptions, categories and prices, in the language you choose. Then ask Claude what to order. Tell it what you're in the mood for, what you've eaten lately, how hungry you are or how many people are sharing, and Claude compares the dishes and prices on your saved menu to help you pick. New menus stay private. ChefBear makes a public link only when you ask for one, and you can turn the link off later. Reading a saved menu does not run recognition again and does not use your allowance. What the connector can do: - Import menu photos you share as links (uses your ChefBear recognition allowance) - Check an import and open the private menu link - Read a saved menu by its ID - Create or turn off a share link for a menu What it does not do: it does not read your ChefBear taste profile, meal history or orders, does not create images, and does not place orders or take payments. You need a ChefBear account (free on the App Store, with optional ChefBear Pro). You approve the connection in the ChefBear iPhone app. Dish details come from the restaurant's menu, so confirm anything important with the restaurant before you order.

Tools

connection_status

Claude

get_import_status

Claude
Check a menu import by its jobId. Returns pending, ready (with the menuId and a private ChefBear link), or failed with a reason. Read-only; does not use the recognition allowance.

get_menu

Claude
Read one of the user's saved ChefBear menus by menuId: dish names, short descriptions, categories and prices as stored. Read-only. Does not search menus, list other menus, or run recognition again.

import_menu

Claude
Create a private ChefBear menu from 1 to 5 restaurant menu photos the user provides, as https:// image links (photoUrls) or as uploaded files where the app supports file inputs (files). Uses the connected account's menu recognition allowance. Returns a jobId; recognition usually takes 20 to 60 seconds, then get_import_status returns the menuId. Does not create images or public links.

revoke_menu_share

Claude
Turn off the public link for one of the user's menus. People holding the old link lose access; the private menu stays in the account.

share_menu

Claude
Create, or return the existing, public link for one of the user's menus. Anyone with the link can view the menu's dishes and prices; the original photos are not included. Intended for when the user asks to share a menu.
